Referendum to Repeal Commerce Tax and Recall Senator(s)

The citizens of this great country started a Revolution in 1773 by throwing tea into the Boston Harbor to protest “Taxation without Representation”. A new Revolution has begun in the state of Nevada for the same reason.

On November 4, 2014, nearly 80% of Nevada’s voters said NO to Question 3, The Education Initiative, which was a margins tax based on a business’s gross receipts. Just 72 days later, during his State of the State address on January 15, 2015, Governor Brian Sandoval proposed a $7.3 Billion budget to be funded with roughly $1 Billion in new taxes.

A Classical Conservative Speaks!

At one time, I use to be proud to call myself a conservative and a Republican. I considered myself to be a “classical conservative”, one who believes in limited government, free markets, individual liberty, a strong national defense, and firmly believed that the role of government should be to provide people the freedom necessary to pursue their own goals, and the placement of the individual in our society above that of the collective wisdom of the government.

The brilliance of classical conservatism is, and still remains, in its simplicity.

Ron Knecht for State Controller in Nevada primary

To the Editor: The Nevada primary elections are very close and I’d like to say a word about Ron Knecht.
Ron is running for the Office of State Controller. The Controller has a detailed and serious position: to ensure that the state’s funds are spent as intended and to audit the auditors.

I’ve known Ron for a number of years, and I’ve never seen anyone challenge his integrity or his character. Ron has been endorsed by the Nevada Republican Party, the Republican Assembly, the NRA and others.

Ron is against common core and stands for the tax payer. He is as conservative a man as I know.

Here is what Ms, Howell did not state in the spirit of “transparency” which now has become the new “buzzword” in American and Nevada Politics!

Trio entitled to opinion, but not the facts on judicial, well-settled law

After listening to Jim Wheeler, Len Semas, and Don Gustavson talk on a poorly produced radio show called " Conversations from the Capital" they broached the subject and implied that arbitrary and capricious state nullification of federal laws was not only allowed but also a new
requirement and litmus test for candidacy to hold political office as a Republican. This is an insult to the Constitution and the rule of law.

They never cite case law to support their positions, but they present themselves as constitutional scholars and experts on the Bill of Rights. They are neither!

The Carson Valley Inn swiftly accommodated our surge of walk-ins, key to the success of the evening.

Nevada GOP will grill, endorse candidates in party primary

Candidates competing in the Nevada Republican primary election this spring may find a friend — or foe — in the Nevada Republican Party, which is presenting them with something of a litmus test to see how they stand on various issues and principles.

Meet the Jack-booted Thugs of the Nevada Republican Party

One of the core principles of conservatism has always been the concept of limited government which demands giving citizens more control on how they shape their local environment and policy, which by extension places more emphasis on local government and the ability of the citizen to participate in the democratic process, giving more access of the citizen to their locally elected officials.

Opinion: Deconstructing Agenda 21

In his classic essay, entitled The Paranoid Style in American Politics, Richard Hofstadler, succinctly stated the following:“We are all sufferers from history, but the paranoid is a double sufferer, since he is afflicted not only by the real world, with the rest of us, but by his fantasies as well.”
