The Carson City Symphony presents the 28th annual Holiday Treat concert on Sunday, December 11, 2011, 4:00 p.m., at the Bob Boldrick Theater in the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William Street.
November Jazz from Mile High Jazz Band

Carson Street, across the street from the state legislature building in Carson City. General admission is $5 at the door; free for age 18 and under. Dance instruction, 6:00-7:15 p.m. is $5 additional.

Grounds open and pre-concert entertainment begins at 2:00 p.m. Admission is free.

The Nevada Arts Council presents "Thick Dreams," a series of mixed media artwork by Nick Larsen, in its Carson City office now through June 3 as part of the Office eXhibition Series. An artist talk and reception will be held Thursday, April 14 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

King Street, Carson City. The concert, sponsored by the Brewery Arts Center and the Mile High Jazz Band Association, is a benefit for the Carson High Jazz Band programs.
Sierra Nevada Ballet presents 'Peanutcracker — The Story in a Nut Shell'

Based on the Peter Tchaikovsky’s original ballet “The Nutcracker,” "Peanutcracker" is a shorter, 45-minute narrated version that is “designed for families with younger children to introduce them to the wonderful world of ballet,” noted Rosine Bena, Artistic Director of the Sierra Nevada Ballet. Bena wrote and choreographed this traditional holiday show.
Nevada State Museum in Carson City hosts Powwow traditions exhibit

This colorful exhibit, featured now through Aug. 7, was developed by the Folklife Program of the Nevada Arts Council and presents art and crafts that capture the vibrant spirit of the contemporary powwow, Nevada-style.
