To ensure the safety and wellbeing of its patrons, the Carson City Library will temporarily close starting Nov. 24, 2020, in response to the Governor’s statewide three-week pause and the elevated COVID-19 concerns especially for persons at risk.

UPDATE: There will be no live audience. The guidance from the city changed after the original press release was released. Anyone who bought tickets ahead of time can get reimbursed or have the money donated to the Carson City Symphony Assoc. At the end of the live-streaming at Facebook.com/CarsonCitySymphony, people can stay on and see the newly released video of Sweelinck's "Hodie Christus natus est" by the Carson Chamber Singers.

Reno has been presenting TubaChristmas performances since 1989 and the organizers aren't going to let a little global pandemic stop their fun this year! They invite tuba, euphonium, and baritone horn players of all ages to join virtual Reno TubaChristmas 2020.

The Carson City School District, on behalf of the Carson City Schools Foundation, is pleased to announce mini and department grant winners for Fall 2020. Each semester, CCSF gives back to educators and students alike. Reverend Dr. Gary Robert Buchanan, local composer, conductor, Sonatherapist, minister at the International Community of Christ, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on October 16, 2020, after a year-long fight against cancer. He is survived by his wife Amanda Buchanan, sons Bradley Buchanan of Ventura, California, and Kym Buchanan of Wisconsin, daughter Amy Buchanan-Rodriquez of Reno, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
