Dozens of Bently Nevada employees helped deliver Christmas to 11 Douglas County and Carson City families this week. The families were selected by the Ron Wood Family Resource Center based on their economic and social circumstances.

End of an Era: Creator and founder of Downtown Carson City Santa Parade retires

For 20 years I have been bringing Christmas events to Downtown Carson City, beginning in 2000 when I had my retail store on Telegraph Square with Santa and his real reindeer. The Santa Parade was created in 2007 and was always the Saturday after the Silver and Snowflake festival originating at Telegraph Square to bring awareness to the existing businesses in the area.

Austin's House, serving Carson City's foster youth and beyond, is searching for additional Board Members

Since 2007, Austin’s House has provided emergency shelter and compassionate care for children in Northern Nevada who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. The Nevada Artist Association Art Gallery 40th Anniversary Celebration

Forty years ago, Carson City’s art and culture community experienced a massive boost when the Nevada Artists Association Art Gallery opened its doors.

The funding and building of this volunteer run gallery was spearheaded by local Nevada artists and donated to Carson City as part of the Brewery Arts Center Campus in 1979. Today NAA enjoys a membership of over 150 member artists, many of whom volunteer to host at and run Nevada Artists Association Art Gallery that has continually contributed to the arts and culture of the Carson City community throughout the past 40 years.

Dayton Chamber Awarded Rural Tourism Grant

John Cassinelli, president of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center, has announced that Travel Nevada and the Nevada State Department of Tourism have awarded the Chamber a $9,600 rural tourism marketing grant.
