NNDA will recognize Carson City Mayor Bob Crowell as the special honoree and 2014 Pioneer of the Year for the continual difference he makes in Carson City and the Sierra Region. Also attending will be United States Congressman Mark Amodei as a special guest and presenter and John Tyson as our Master of Ceremony.

These recent articles are a faithful representations of the Party Line. Of course that party line is dead wrong, but at least the writer does a good job presenting it.
Amodei and the Minimum Wage

Anyone who understands even a little bit about the economic history of this country knows that voting to keep the minimum wage where it is now is a vote to keep millions of Americans in poverty and dependent upon welfare just to survive.
Longtime Carson City businessman, elected leader Pete Livermore dies
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 10/20/2014 - 12:10pmPete Livermore, a longtime Carson City elected leader and business owner, died Monday at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. He was 73.
Livermore was a Nevada Assemblyman who decided this year that he would not seek re-election. He began in the Assembly District 40 on Feb. 7 2011. Before that, Livermore was a member of the Carson City Board of Supervisors, 1998-2010; was Mayor pro Tem, Carson City, 2004-2006.

Carson City supervisors recognize 'Always Lost' exhibition on costs of war
Submitted by editor on Thu, 10/02/2014 - 4:45pmCarson City government officials on Thursday recognized Western Nevada College’s nationally known humanities exhibition on the costs of war, “Always Lost: A Meditation on War,” Thursday with a proclamation of appreciation and honor.
Carson City Mayor Robert Crowell, a Vietnam veteran, has called the exhibit “our community’s gift to the nation.”
A proclamation honoring the creators and contributors of “Always Lost” was presented to Western Nevada College President Chester Burton and Professors Emeritus Don Carlson and Marilee Swirczek during the Board of Supervisors meeting.

Brian Sandoval, senators Harry Reid and Dean Heller, Congressman Mark Amodei and Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki. The event benefits The Boys & Girls Club of Nevada.
Tickets are $60 per person, or a reserved table for 10 is just $500. Doors open at 6 p.m. The evening also includes table service dinner, silent and live auctions, and a Nevada 150 birthday cake and cake cutting ceremony.
Dayton artist unveils painting of living Nevada governors and elected officials
Submitted by editor on Fri, 09/19/2014 - 2:25pmRenowned Dayton artist, Steven Saylor, has completed his painting “Nine Cheers for the Silver State,” featuring current governor Brian Sandoval, the two U.S. Senators from Nevada, and Mark Amodei, who represents the Northern Nevada congressional district.
The painting celebrates the 150th anniversary of Nevada statehood and will raise funds for the Comstock Foundation for History and Culture, a non-profit organization dedicated to the restoration and promotion of the Comstock Historic District, a National Historic Landmark.

It’s a printout of an email from an angry constituent who didn’t like one of Amodei’s bills. The subject line reads: “Are you insane?” and the message concludes with the sentiment, “Your job is over, cupcake!”
Committee vote sets Northern Nevada lands bills on path to final House passage

The compromise agreement was made possible after adjustments to the legislation were made to a version passed in January.

Curtis, of Gardnerville, will serve as field representative in Amodei’s Reno office. He brings more than 36 years of experience from across Northern Nevada in law enforcement, local government and the private sector, including serving as Douglas County Commissioner.

Amodei introduces bill to stop sage grouse endangered species listing

'Have a Heart' celebration fundraiser at Glen Eagles generates $31,000 for FISH

This fundraiser will allow FISH to continue renovations on their 50 year old buildings in Carson City and will help in replacing their aging homeless shelter van. Special thanks to Dick Campagni Capitol Ford/Hyundai, and Carson City Toyota/Scion for donating a $1,000 gas card for our drawing and the Glen Eagle’s staff for a flawless and delicious dinner event.

The diners were served by more than 40 celebrity waiters, from singer Lacy J. Dalton to Congressman Mark Amodei. The waiters made their best efforts to earn extra tips, from telling jokes to singing songs.
