Speaking at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Aaron Sims, the Democratic candidate for Nevada State Senate District 16, and Shannon McDaniel, the Democratic candidate for Nevada State Assembly, District 40. In the November 8th general election, they will face off against Republican Senate candidate Lisa Krasner and incumbent GOP Assemblyman P.K. O'Neill.

Jim Peckham, Executive Director of Friends In Services Helping (FISH), will be the featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon. Rural Northern Nevada’s largest and most complete social services program, FISH provides food, clothing, shelter and medical aid to the homeless, hungry and underemployed within our community, with the objective of helping families and individuals become self sufficient.

Monday, June 20th marks the second annual celebration of Juneteenth National Independence Day, which was signed into law by President Joe Biden on June 17, 2021. It commemorates the June 19, 1865 announcement by Union Army General Gordon Granger of General Order No. 3, which proclaimed freedom for all the enslaved people of Texas, the last Confederate state to have institutional slavery.

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Shannon McDaniel, a licensed professional engineer and water rights surveyor who is currently a candidate for Nevada State Assembly, District 40. Having no primary opposition on the Democatic side, she will advance to the November 8th general election, where she will face off against the winner of the Republican primary between incumbent P.K. O'Neill and challenger Gary Schmidt.

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Aaron Sims, candidate for Nevada State Senate District 16, which emcompasses all of Carson City and parts of South Washoe County. Not having any Democratic primary opposition, he will advance to the November 8th general election. There he will face off against the winner of the June 14th Republican primary. The GOP contenders are Timothy Duvall, Lisa Krasner, Monica Stabbert and incumbent Don Tatro.

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Elliott Parker, PhD, Professor of Economics at the University of Nevada-Reno. His PowerPoint presentation will bring the current economic headlines — from ongoing labor shortages to supply chain disruptions to stubbornly high inflation rates and Fed monetary policy responses — into the context of longer-term macroeconomic trends.

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Tim Hanifan, primary candidate for Nevada District 2 of the United States House of Representatives. He is one of seven candidates on the Democratic side. His rivals include Joseph Afzalk, Michael Doucette, Gerold Lee Gorman, Brian Hansen, Rahu Joshi and Elizabeth Mercedes Krause. Hanifan is the only candidate in that field who hails from the Carson City area.

Dee Dee Foremaster, Executive Director of the Rural Center for Independent Living (RCIL) will be the featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon. Her presentation will concern the pros and cons of rent control and the need for diversified housing.

Aubrey Rowlatt, Carson City Clerk-Recorder, will be the featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon. She will be presenting a status report on the on-going process of redrawing precinct, ward and district maps in accordance with current law, the 2020 census data and the number of active voters. Assisting her will be Miguel Camacho-Reyes, Elections Department Chief Deputy.

Mike Wiencek, Brewery Arts Center Director of Operations, will speak via Zoom at Monday's Democratic luncheon. "Mikey," as he is universally known, has worked at the Brewery Arts Center since 2015, initially as a volunteer, and has played a key role in helping the BAC grow into the community arts hub that it is today.

A proud Marine Corps veteran, he has been involved in broadcast media and the arts for more than 25 years.

Featured speaker at Monday's virtual Democratic luncheon will be Patrick Donnelly, Nevada State Director of the Center for Biological Diversity. Among other things he will touch on the hydrology and endangered species of the Amargosa Basin and explain why Yucca Mountain is a terrible place to store high-level nuclear waste.

Dee Dee Foremaster, Executive Director of the Rural Center for Independent Living (RCIL) and Do Drop In day refuge for the homeless and mentally ill will be the featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon. Her presentation will be an update on all the great things that have been happening at RCIL since her last luncheon appearance.

Fred Lokken, political science professor at Truckee Meadows Community College, will be the featured speaker at Monday's Democratic tele-luncheon. He will extend the post-election review of the local, state and national political scenes begun when he spoke at the November 16 tele-luncheon. As always, Prof. Lokken can be counted on to highlight key facts and in-depth analysis that can be found nowhere else.

Carson City Republican Women's Club will again honor our veterans at our upcoming luncheon meeting Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020 to be held at Casino Fandango at 11 a.m.

Our guest speaker is Commander Bryan Heller, Ret. The charge for lunch is $25 per person and reservations are mandatory by Friday, Nov. 14, 2020.

Young Democrats of Nevada National Committeewoman Nnedi Stephens will be the featured speaker at Monday's virtual Democratic luncheon. She will provide an overview of how the Young Democrats of America is organized and operates at the national, state and local levels, with a view to formation of a Young Dems group in Nevada's capital city.

Christina Forrester, Executive Director and Founder of Christian Democrats of America and the Christians Against Hate movement, will be the featured speaker at Monday's virtual Democratic luncheon.

Judicial candidates Ozzie Fumo and Bonnie Bulla will be the featured speakers at Monday's virtual Democratic luncheon. Fumo, Nevada State Assemblyman for District 21 in Las Vegas, is running for Nevada Supreme Court, Seat D. Bulla, who was appointed to Department 3 of the Nevada Court of Appeals by Governor Steve Sisolak in February 2019, is running to retain that seat.

The featured speaker at Monday's Carson City Democratic luncheon will be Patricia Ackerman, Democratic candidate for Nevada's 2nd Congressional District (CD-2). An Emerge Nevada graduate, Patricia ran an aggressive Assembly campaign against District 39 Republican Jim Wheeler in 2018.

Carson City Republican Women's Club are hosting Congressman Mark Amodei at their Tuesday, October 20, 2020 meeting. The doors open at 11:00a.m. and the meeting begins at 11:30 a.m. Reservations are mandatory and please RSVP by Friday, October 16.

Sena Loyd, Democratic candidate for the Nevada State Assembly, District 40, will be the featured speaker at Monday's virtual Democratic luncheon.

Stacie Wilke-McCulloch, candidate for Carson City Board of Supervisors, Ward 2, will be the featured speaker at Monday's virtual Democratic luncheon. She has served on the Carson City School Board for over 11 years since 1999. She currently serves on the board of Carson City Parks & Recreation and the Governor’s Advisory Council for Family Engagement.

The Carson City Republican Women's Club will hear candidate for Carson City Supervisor Maurice White at their upcoming luncheon meeting.The meeting will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Casino Fandango commencing at 11 a.m.

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic tele-luncheon will be Eric Biggart, Chair of LDS Democrats of America. The group, which is not affiliated the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, has as its slogan, "Same faith. Same values. Different perspective." Their mission, as laid out on their Facebook page, is to “promote the full participation of Latter-day Saints in the Democratic Party. We do this by providing educational and social resources to progressive, moderate, and conservative Democrats who are also LDS, and others who are interested in participating in a ‘no shouting’ environment.”

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic tele-luncheon will be Mary Liveratti, who served as AARP's Nevada state president for six years before retiring in 2018. She now serves as a volunteer advocate on behalf of legislation impacting seniors. At Monday's luncheon, she will talk about the role she plays in the University of Nevada, Reno’s NEST (Nevada Ensures Support Together) program, which addresses the social service needs of older Nevadans.

Bonnie Bulla, who was appointed to Department 3 of the Nevada Court of Appeals by Governor Steve Sisolak in February 2019, and is running to retain that seat in the November general election, will be the featured speaker at Monday's virtual Democratic luncheon. She is opposed by Susan Bush, a Las Vegas attorney in private practice.

As our community recovers economically, employers will require different skills for their employees. At the same time, students will need more financial assistance to earn degrees and certificates in high-demand and evolving industries.

Ozzie Fumo, Nevada State Assembly member for District 21 in Las Vegas and candidate for the Nevada Supreme Court, Seat D, will be the featured speaker at Monday's virtual Democratic luncheon. Fumo advanced from the June 9th primary election and now faces District Court Judge Douglas Herndon in the November 3rd general election.

Sena Loyd, candidate for the Nevada State Assembly, District 40, will be the featured speaker at Monday's virtual Democratic luncheon. She became the official Democratic nominee in June's three-way primary, in which she received 47 percent of the vote.
