Happy Saturday Carson City! Tired of the fog yet? Well, there's a big storm that's scheduled to push in tomorrow, so it'll be interesting to see how that changes the weather.

Festival of Lights, Project Empty Bowls, Santa train and more: Carson City region readies for festive weekend

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of holiday events around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the Silver and Snowflake Festival of Lights, the 24th annual Parade of Lights in Gardnerville, the annual Project Empty Bowls dinner held at the Carson Mall, a Holiday Crawl in downtown Carson City and much more! Capital City Community hosts 'In A Holiday Spirit' concert Dec. 8 at Carson City Community Center

The Capital City Community will, once again, welcome the holidays with a free concert in the Boldrick Theater in the Carson City Community Center on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 3 p.m.

Obituary: Johnny N. Sulli

John Nicholas Sulli was born Jan. 1, 1953, in San Jose, Calif., to Emil and Eleanor Sulli. Surrounded by the family and caregivers that loved and cared for him, on Nov. 8, 2019, he passed peacefully and sweetly from this life to reunite with his family who have pre-deceased him. Johnny was blessed with being born and living with Down's Syndrome for 66 years, 10 months in mortality.

The service will take place at the 911 memorial beginning at 6 p.m. The event is hosted by Carson City Christian Ministerial Fellowship. Guest speakers are Carson City Mayor Bob Crowell, Sheriff Ken Furlong, Carson City Fire Chief Sean Slamon and pastors from local ministry.

NHP identifies driver in fatal crash on U.S. Highway 50 in Dayton

The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified the driver who died in a crash on U.S. 50 near Fortune Drive in Dayton early Friday morning.

NHP says 28-year-old Juan Jesus Orozco of South Lake Tahoe killed when he lost control of his red 2000 Audi S4 sedan while speeding on U.S. Highway 50 and crashed into a light pole.

David A. Dannenfelser

David A. Dannenfelser, age 33, passed over into the loving arms of Jesus Christ on January 25, 2019. We will forever miss his loving smile, his humor, his beautiful and humble spirit, and his compassionate heart.

David is survived by his Mother Debra, his father David C., his grandparents, his brothers Robby, Daryl, Derrick, and Jake, his sister Danielle, and various other nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

David will continue to live in our hearts forever, guiding and watching over us.

Hello and good day Carson City. We are headed into Friday, Dec. 7, 2018. The weekend is nearly here and your continued generosity never ceases to amaze. Ahead Friday is the annual KTVN Share Your Christmas Drive-By Food Drive held locally at the Governor's Mansion and at Minden's Carson Valley Inn. It is also the 6th annual Project Empty Bowls at Carson Mall, which has become a local soup for the soul favorite stop.
