Stimulus Program Information

The coronavirus relief bill passed March 27 by Congress provides payments to individuals who make less than $100,000 a year. The payment total $1,200 for each adult who makes $75,000 or less, plus $500 per child. The payment amounts decrease if you make between $75,000 and $99,000. The income is determined by your latest tax return filed with the IRS. It will use your 2019 taxes if you have filed them already, or your 2018 taxes if you haven't. In the business environment change brought on by COVID-19, there will be winners, maintainers, and losers. Although much is out of our control, business leaders who lean into innovation and what they can control are more likely to maintain or even win.

The Retail Association of Nevada released Wednesday the results of their statewide survey that measures consumer opinion and buying behaviors as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

“While Nevadans are very concerned of COVID-19, they are generally supportive of how it has been handled to date, giving high marks to the local retailers who have worked tirelessly to keep grocery stores open and as many products available as possible,” said Bryan Wachter, Senior Vice President of Government and Public Affairs of the Retail Association of Nevada.

Gov. Steve Sisolak issued another emergency directive Tuesday to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus — this time limiting indoor and outdoor gatherings to no more than 10 people.

Gov. Steve Sisolak made Nevada one of the first states to enter a state of partial lockdown last Tuesday as an emergency step meant to stem the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus, enforcing a closure of the state’s casinos and urging other non-essential businesses to close their doors for 30 days.

CARSON CITY — Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of elders and all community members, on Monday the Nevada Indian Commission announced the postponement of the grand opening of the Stewart Indian School Cultural Center & Museum, as well as the cancellation of the 2020 Stewart Father’s Day Powwow.

MINDEN — In response to COVID-19 Douglas County officials continue to work closely with Carson City Health and Human Services and a regional Emergency Operations Center that has been set up in Carson City to ensure compliance with the Governor’s directive while working in partnership to keep Douglas County residents safe.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting one new positive case of COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus in the Quad County region: Carson City, Douglas, Lyon, and Storey counties. This brings the total number of cases in the Quad-County region to four.

CARSON CITY — The Division of Health Care Financing and Policy, Nevada Medicaid, announced steps taken to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, including expanded access to telehealth.

Earlier this month, the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation issued a press release with a jubilant headline: “Nevada’s Unemployment Rate Hits an All-Time Low.”

The First Judicial District Court and the Carson City Justice/Municipal Court has issued Administrative Orders for the Carson City Courthouse, Juvenile Court, Juvenile Detention Center and Juvenile Services to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and safeguard the public and employees.

As Governor Steve Sisolak, Nevada state government officials, public health authorities, hospitals, and medical providers all work together to prepare, test, treat, and slow the spread of COVID-19, there are measures we can all take to reduce our risk of contracting the virus and keep our families and communities healthy.

On Wednesday, the Nevada Health Response Center (NHRC) released the COVID-19 Risk Mitigation Initiative listing of essential services and sectors and non-essential services and sectors. The release includes social distancing measure.

UPDATE: Carson City Health and Human Services clarified one item in the resolution regarding the number of cases. Carson City health officials have identified 1 positive case and the potential exposure of 14 ship passengers who have been repatriated who are being tracked.

YERINGTON — Lyon County has announced the following changes in operations in response to COVID-19 and the Governor’s recent announcement as to the State of Nevada’s Response to COVID-19.

Carson City is monitoring Covid-19 issues and working very closely with all of our health-related partners. To date, we have only one reported incident which was determined to be travel related but that is not cause to take this virus lightly.

Gov. Steve Sisolak on Tuesday ordered a sweeping shutdown of nonessential businesses, including casinos and retail stores, for 30 days, a move that would have been unthinkable weeks ago before the novel coronavirus wreaked its havoc around the world.

Casino Fandango always places the health and safety of guests and team members as the highest priority. During this time, extra precautions will be taken because of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Already strict standards of cleanliness and sanitizing have been heightened, and the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), local and U.S. Government officials will be followed as closely as possible.

Carson City officials are continuously monitoring the level of risk of COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) to the community. In close coordination with Carson City Health and Human Services, the City Manager’s Office along with City departments in an abundance of caution are coordinating the closure of some offices to take additional measures to slow the spread of respiratory viruses. Heading into the first of the work week, there's some uncertainty due to concerns over the coronavirus. Some activities will go on as scheduled while others may be canceled. We're advising you check with event organizers ahead of time before you plan on attending.

Gov. Steve Sisolak said that while a testing kit shortage makes it impossible to tell how much coronavirus has affected Nevada, the pace of the virus’ spread around the world means Nevada must “act quickly” to slow it — including taking drastic measures such as shutting state offices, limiting the size of gatherings and encouraging employees to work from home if possible.

As some of you may already know, Governor Sisolak today in a press conference ordered the closure of all Nevada K-12 schools until April 6. We will be following the guidance of our state government and closing our doors for the same time period to protect our Club members and our community.
