Responders called to vehicle crash with injury in Olive Garden parking lot

Just after 4 p.m. on Friday first responders were called to an accident with reported injury in the parking lot of the Olive Garden after two vehicles collided.

One woman is reported to be pregnant and an ambulance was called to respond for medical clearance.

Motorists should avoid the area or use caution at present.

Good yard sanitation in the fall is as important to year-long plant health as proper planting, watering, fertilizing and pruning are. This is particularly true for next year’s crop of vegetables and fruit. Remove or cut back all the plants in the vegetable garden that are done for the season.

In this week's edition of It's Your City, host Cortney Bloomer sits down with Rhonda Abend from Carson City Classic Cinema Club to talk about classic films, tonight's showing of "Charade" and her weekly radio show about films.

Be it classic films or current local films, the club, also known as C5, is committed to bringing Carson City movie entertainment. Its regular schedule of classic films is shown on the first Tuesday of every month at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 W. King Street.

Dozens of vendors sold different forms of art to capture the eyes of attendees while the lush greens, plants and flowers in the Greenhouse served as a comforting background.

Carson Montessori faces issues in finding — and funding — new location

Carson City’s Montessori has been educating a portion of the capitol city’s children for over a decade. They quickly outgrew their space, and have been looking to relocate for about 13 years.

Now, an end may be in sight. According to Carson Montessori Executive Director Jessica Daniels, the school has been looking at the vacant Silver State Charter School complex on Fairview since Silver State shut its doors. After funding fell out more than once, they’re at it again, and a tentative offer of over one million dollars has been offered for the space.

16th Jazz and Beyond Carson City Music Festival opens Friday at Bliss, Governor's Mansion

The 16th Annual Jazz and Beyond Carson City Music and Art Festival kicks off Friday at Bliss Mansion, 608 Elizabeth Street from 4 to 6 p.m., and continues that evening at the Governor’s Mansion, directly across Mountain Street. Using funds left over from their successful project to provide Carson City with its first bee habitat, 2019 Carson City Leadership class representatives Angela Holt and Steve Jones presented a check in the amount of $634.01 to Greenhouse Project founder Karen Abowd, board member Cheryl Rotter and Foothill Garden manager Will Pierz.
