Traffic accident reported Friday at Carson and Eagle Station

Injuries are unknown at this time.
First responders are enroute.
Motorists should seek alternate routes if possible.

DETR: Regular UI initial claims moderate, PUA initial claims increase noticeably; PEUC claims at 75,000
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 10/23/2020 - 9:29amFor the week ending October 17, initial claims for unemployment insurance (UI) totaled 8,734 down 230 claims, or 2.6 percent, compared to last week’s total of 8,964 claims, according to finalized data from the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR).
Through the week ending October 17, there have been 728,045 initial claims filed in 2020, 706,393 of which have been filed since the week ending March 14.
Golf tournament, fundraisers, railbike tours and more highlight weekend events around Carson City

The Nevada Day Golf Tournament in remembrance of Mayor Bob Crowell will be held at Silver Oak Ranch Golf Course on Saturday. Signups underway for Carson City Chamber's Halloween-themed golf tourney

The Carson City Chamber has partnered with the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada to temporarily reduce some of the fatigue by organizing a bit of Halloween golf and fun for those who just want to enjoy the outdoors while practicing all the current COVID safety protocols.
Since winter is right around the corner, there may not be many chances left to play golf.

The individual was a male Lyon County resident in his 80’s. CCHHS is also reporting 26 new cases and 33 additional recoveries in the Quad-County Region. This brings the total number of cases to 1,646, with 1,444 recoveries and 21 deaths; 181 cases remain active.

However, say hello to Chugg, who is our adorable Pet of the Week today.
Chugg came to The Nevada Humane Society in Carson City on the 29th of September, 2020 when he was found as an injured stray.
They have doctored this shy but sweet boy up and he is ready to find his forever home.
