Glow Back To The 80's with New Wave Crave at Genoa Bar this Friday

Open the bottom drawer of your dresser and you'll see exactly what to wear when New Wave Crave returns to Nevada's oldest thirst parlor, The Genoa Bar this Friday night from 7 to 11 p.m. Is it outrageous? Is it white or neon-colored? Does it "pop" under black lights?

Put it on and rock out to your fave hits from the 80's performed live. Songs by Cindy Lauper, The B-52's, Madonna, The Cure and onward! Round up your friends for this fun and free, 21+ event.

Famed country rock band at Silver City, early Carson City history, live comedy and more this weekend

Heading into the weekend, there’s a mountain of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the Nevada Artists Association New Year’s Show, and there’s a historical Curry family presentation at the Nevada State Museum. Homicide suspect in custody following Tahoe capture, confesses location of father's body

A four-hour interview of homicide suspect Sean Purdy in Reno Friday night has led to the discovery of the body of his father, 52-year-old Lance Purdy of Pine Grove, Calif.

At 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2020, detectives from the Amador County Sheriff’s Office met with the 20-year-old suspect at the Washoe County Jail in Reno, Nev. After approximately four hours of interviewing Sean, detectives said they were able to obtain a confession from Sean and the location of his father’s body.

Unsettled weather is ahead for the Carson City region over the next few days beginning with a weak and warm storm moving into the area, which accounts for the gusty conditions Thursday morning. Just after 6 p.m. Friday night responders were called to a rollover crash near the Carson Douglas county line up towards Spooner Junction. There were multiple cars involved and it appeared there were injuries. An off duty paramedic was on scene.

What began as an attempt to serve a felony warrant out of Sacramento led to a high-speed police chase involving multiple jurisdictions Friday night, culminating in a single vehicle crash on Old 395 near the I-580 exit.
