WNC Softball to Have Free Admission This Weekend

Fan Appreciation Days

Receive Free Admission to Wildcats’ Midweek Games

Western Nevada College softball fans will be treated to Fan Appreciation Days when the Wildcats entertain North Idaho College Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon at Edmonds Sports Complex in Carson City.

Fans will be admitted free to the Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheaders that begin at 1:30 p.m. each day.

The Wildcats are fresh off taking three of four games from Colorado Northwestern last weekend.

Pilot Lake Tahoe bus program to link Incline Village and Sand Harbor

A new bus service at Lake Tahoe that will run from Incline Village to Sand Harbor Beach State Recreation Area will begin this month.
A collaboration of the Tahoe Transportation District, the Nevada Division of State Parks, Nevada Department of Transportation, Nevada Highway Patrol and Washoe County School District will inaugurate the East Shore Express, a pilot Park and Ride bus service beginning June 15 and will run to Sept. 3, 2012.

The Carson City Sheriff's Office will be hosting their ninth annual Sheriff's Open House from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19 at their location at 911 E. Musser St. There will be free food while supplies last, a free child ID kit for every child present, and free activities for children of all ages. Motorsports Wrap Up

Local race fans will soon get a taste of live racing, as two dirt tracks, a road course, and a drag strip all begin their seasons this month. Next Saturday night the quarter mile dirt oval at Fallon’s Rattlesnake Raceway will open their season, with Hobby Stock, Pro Stock, GenX, Rat Mod, Super Four, and 360 Sprint divisions in action, as well as four divisions of Outlaw Karts. General admission is $10, with $5 tickets for seniors, kids less than 64” tall, and kids under 5 years old free.

Star Party at Western Nevada College Observatory

This week's Star Party at the Jack C. Davis Observatory on the campus of Western Nevada College will feature a slide show and lecture presented by Mike Thomas. The topic is "Alexander the Great" and the discussion will be about the young Greek king who goes on to conquer the known world in the 3rd Century BC.
The observatory opens at 6 p.m. and the lecture begins at 7:30 p.m. Free admission to the public. Please remember that the observatory will not open if it is snowing or there is snow on the roads.

It is the tale of a true hero, whose name lives on as the defender of his country, and as the role model for all men who set off for a life on the sea.

Santa Day at the Children's Museum

Bring your kids and your camera!  

The Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada  announces their annual “Santa Day” at the Museum on Saturday,
December 11th.

Santa will be here from 10am-1pm.

Families will be able to enjoy hot chocolate, candy   canes, and crafts.  

Be “edu-tained” with the new exhibits and layout at the  museum, where kids from 2 to 92 can be educated and entertained. 

Free admission to members, non-members can enjoy the fun for the normal admission price of $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $3 for kids…

Christmas Carol Play-Along at Carson Mall

A Christmas Carol play-along will be held on Monday, Dec. 20, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Carson Mall.
