Foundation awards Carson City-based Pets of Homeless grant to provide nationwide dog vet care

Carson City's Rebecca Ostrander overcomes brain tumor, set to graduate from UNLV

Ostrander, 21, suffered a brain tumor shortly after her 18th birthday. She was forced to spend most of her senior year of high school in hospitals and physical therapy recovery centers.

Elks Lodge celebrates Carson City Search and Rescue with $2,500 grant

The program included a a live auction, raffle drawing, and presentation of the Elks National Foundation grant of $2,500. These Gratitude Grants are used to support local, charitable activities such as hosting a community clean-up day, purchasing supplies for a homeless shelter, or organizing a school literacy fair.
The Elks Lodge is celebrating 150 years of service.
