The company, San Diego-based Andrew and Williamson Fresh Produce, has voluntarily recalled all cucumbers sold between Aug. 1 through Thursday, Sept. 3.

The suspect, in these photos and video below and a second video here, grabbed the wallet out of the hands of an 87-year-old man at Bodines Casino in the 5000 block of South Carson St. and ran away, last seen heading toward Fuji Park, said Carson City Sheriff’s Office Detective Sam Hatley.
Zephyr Cove man dies in single vehicle crash Monday on Kingsbury Grade
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Wed, 07/22/2015 - 9:16amA 93-year-old Lake Tahoe man died following a single vehicle accident Monday on Kingsbury Grade near Katherine Drive in Stateline, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
Troopers from the Nevada Highway Patrol were dispatched the crash at 2:44 p.m. The preliminary collision investigation details indicate that a white 2008 Ford Ranger pickup driven by the elderly Zephyr Cove man was traveling westbound on Kingsbury Grade, State Route 20. For unknown reasons, the pickup drifted off the right side roadway edge through a dirt right of way area and struck a tree with the pickup’s front.

Highway 50 at Cheyenne Drive in the Stagecoach area was closed Saturday night due to a three vehicle injury crash, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. Central Lyon County Fire District and Carson City fire and rescue has been called in for mutual aid. The crash was reported at 10:02 p.m.

As record temperatures are anticipated for the region this weekend, moisture will begin to filter across the Sierra with isolated thunderstorms possible as early as Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Reno. Strong outflow winds and dry lightning strikes are possible with these storms Friday and Saturday.

Woman who robbed elderly Carson City woman in December sentenced to prison

Joanna Grajeda, who pled guilty to the crime of robbery, will get 3 to 10 years in prison as ordered by Carson City District Court Judge James Russell. Two others have also pled guilty and were sentenced to prison.

The northbound lane was re-opened for travel at around 9 p.m., said Carson City Sheriff's Sgt. Scott McDaniel.
Carson City fire and ambulance responded to the two-vehicle head-on crash with injuries that happened at around 7:30 p.m.
Washoe County Sheriff's deputies arrest Carson City woman for fraudulently cashing checks
Submitted by admin on Wed, 01/28/2015 - 2:31pmWashoe County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Christen Ashlee Chamberlin, age 20, of Carson City on multiple charges related to fraudulently cashing over a dozen checks belonging to an elderly Incline Village woman.
Sheriff’s Office investigators said that during a time when Chamberlin worked as a caregiver for the victim, Chamberlin fraudulently cashed 15 checks from the victim’s bank account. The total amount of money Chamberlin obtained from the victim is estimated at just over $6,500.

After detectives interviewed the subjects, it was determined they are not the ones believed to be involved in a rash of residential burglaries that have happened primarily on the west side of Carson City, said Humphrey. Investigators learned the suspects knew the person living at the home and knew of property inside they wanted to steal.
Carson City sheriff's deputies arrest four in purse robbery involving 99-year-old victim

On Dec. 4 the sheriff’s office responded to the report of a robbery in the 600 block of East Spear Street, near downtown Carson City. At the scene, the 99-year-old elderly victim reported that a female had confronted her in her garage and forcefully took her purse.

Search continues for purse snatcher who stole cash, credit cards from elderly woman
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Thu, 12/11/2014 - 4:18pmCarson City sheriff’s detectives say even though it has been a week since the crime they are continuing to actively search for a teenage girl or young adult woman who stole the purse of a 99-year-old woman on Thursday, Dec. 4.
The suspect is described as caucasian with dirty blond hair, five feet four inches tall and heavy set. She was wearing a black hooded sweat shirt. The crime happened at around 2 p.m. on Spear Street in Carson City.
