Enough is enough…..

Major League Baseball needs to set an example this time when it comes to Alex Rodriguez and the other players that are involved in this whole entire Biogenesis situation. It should be a lifetime ban for Rodriguez. I don’t think it will come to that unfortunately but that is what the punishment should be. With all that Alex has done to deceive baseball, the players, and the fans he should never be allowed to be in the game again.

Carson City man faces felony charge in domestic battery

A Carson City man was jailed early Tuesday morning following a domestic battery in which he allegedly prevented the victim from reporting the crime.

Amalio Pedro Montanes, 25, was arrested in the 3300 block of Pontius Place at 1:26 a.m. According to the arrest report, officers responded to the residence on a welfare check after dispatch received a call from a woman who gave an address and then disconnected.

Upon arrival officers met with the victim who stated she was upset with her boyfriend, identified a Montanes. The victim said he had come home drunk and wanted him to leave.

Carson City man arrested for domestic battery, baby and mother bruised after being hit with pillow

A Carson City man was arrested and faces charges including domestic battery and gross misdemeanor child abuse after using a pillow to repeatedly beat on his girlfriend in which their baby also sustained a bruise to the face, authorities said.

Miguel Angel Paredes, 23, was arrested at 4:08 a.m. Saturday in the 2000 block of Lone Mountain Drive. He faces a gross misdemeanor charge of abuse or neglect of a child, two misdemeanor charges of domestic battery and a misdemeanor charge of obstructing an officer.

Carson City man jailed on felony meth trafficking charge

A 29-year-old Carson City man with a history of drug-related arrests, faces a felony trafficking charge after officers found a large bag of meth and drug paraphernalia inside a Cadillac in which he was a passenger.

Kameron Keith Mariolo is being held on $25,756 bail. According to the arrest report, officers assigned to the Special Enforcement Team stopped the Cadillac at around 2:47 p.m. Saturday after it was observed Mariolo was an occupant and it was known he had confirmed warrants for his arrest out of Carson City and Sparks.

Three dead in Highway 50 head-on crash east of Dayton at Six Mile Canyon Road

Three people are dead — a male and two females — after a two-vehicle crash Wednesday on Highway 50 east of Dayton at Six-Mile Canyon Road, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Trooper Daniel Lopez reports that around 3:30 p.m. a White Ford F150 pickup traveling eastbound, occupied by a male and a female, drifted over into the westbound lane for an unknown reason, hitting a white Toyota Camry, occupied by a female driver, head-on.

All three died at the scene of the crash. There were no other occupants inside the vehicles.

Carson City authorities make drug, battery arrests

A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested for domestic battery second offense on Tuesday, July 9, 4:58 p.m.

Officers responded to the residence after dispatch received a call of a domestic battery. Upon arrival, officers learned the man and his girlfriend were in the process of moving their stuff from a storage facility after they had been evicted, according to the arrest report.

Carson City authorities arrest South Lake Tahoe man for felony assault

A 38-year-old South Lake Tahoe man faces a felony charge of assaulting a police officer and two misdemeanor charges after he was arrested early Sunday following a struggle with Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies in the 4600 block of Snyder Avenue.

Raymond Michael Elben is in the Carson City jail with bail of $11,549. According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to the area before midnight Saturday for a report of a man on the ground.

NHP: Three transported by helicopters in Highway 50 head-on near Flint Drive in Carson City

A head-on crash on Highway 50 near Flint Drive in Carson City late Thursday morning sent three to the hospital via air ambulance, the Nevada Highway Patrol reports.

The two-vehicle crash, reported at 11:43 a.m., happened in the eastbound lane and involved a silver 1999 Mitsubishi four-door sedan occupied by a male driver, who crossed the center turn lane and struck the front of a 2010 White Kia Soul sedan, occupied by a male driver and a female passenger, said NHP Trooper Chuck Allen.

Served warrants lead to string of arrests in Carson City for felony-related crimes

A 20-year-old Carson City man was jailed Tuesday and faces statutory sexual seduction and failure to appear charges. Jose Alberto Garcia-Perez was booked into the Carson City Jail after being transported by law officials in Las Vegas.

A warrant was issued for the statutory sexual seduction charge, a gross misdemeanor, on April 5 out of Carson City Justice Court while the failure to appear warrant was issued June 24. He is being held without bail on the failure to appear charge, and $5,000 bail for the other charge.

NHP: Alcohol believed a factor in fiery car crash that killed 2 in Carson City on Highway 50

UPDATE 12:36PM: Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a deadly two-car crash on Highway 50 in Carson City early Sunday morning in which a driver was going the wrong way, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. Two people died and one remains in critical condition.

The preliminary crash investigation details indicate a blue Nissan Altima, driven by 34-year-old Jason W. Cloutier of Carson City, was traveling the wrong way, or east, in the left westbound travel lane of Highway 50, said NHP Trooper Barbara Stapleton.

Carson City deputies arrest California women in credit card scheme

Two California women stopped by Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies on Tuesday have admitted to a scheme of using stolen credit cards to buy hundreds of dollars worth of gift cards.

Markeisha Yvette Orviss, 22, and Kamesha Joann Cooper, 24, of Pittsburg, Calif., were arrested by Carson City sheriff's patrol officers in the 3900 block of South Carson Street at 12:15 p.m.

Carson City woman sentenced to prison for transporting methamphetamine

A 45-year-old Carson City woman who pled guilty in April to drug charges was sentenced Tuesday to 48 months in prison, with minimum parole eligibility after 12 months, for transporting methamphetamine.

The Tri-Net Narcotics Task Force received a tip Aug. 23, 2012, that Janna Hinsen, who had an active warrant, was staying at a location in Carson City, and would be picking up methamphetamine that day.

Sheriff: Reported crimes down in Carson City during event-filled weekend

With tens of thousands of people in Carson City last weekend for local events including Taste of DownTown, the Carson City Airport Open House and the Father's Day Powwow, law enforcement arrest records show a relatively quiet weekend.

"We had an excellent weekend and it goes to show that when there are positive family and community events happening around town, the amount of crimes reported falls very low from all points, north to south, east to west and downtown," said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.

Two jailed after drug-fueled assault on Carson City officers

Two men were arrested early Friday morning in the 1800 block of Long Street in Carson City and face multiple charges, including battery on police officers and resisting arrest. A 20-year-old Carson City man later told officers both had been under the influence of LSD and marijuana.

According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the area of 1800 East Long Street late Thursday night after reports came in of a man screaming and stating he had a bloody nose.

Two arrested after Carson City traffic stop leads to drugs, burglary tools

Carson City patrol officers who stopped a Suburban for speeding on Monday morning found drugs and burglary tools inside the vehicle set to be impounded.

Two men were arrested and face multiple charges. The arrests were made at 7:24 a.m. in the 1000 block of Fairview. Alex Matthew Silva, 26, of Dayton faces felony drug possession charges and misdemeanor possession of burglary tools. The other is a 28-year-old Sparks man who faces misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor charges.

Driver in stolen car that crashed Saturday punched officer then admits to using heroin

A Dayton man and Auburn, Calif., woman face felony charges after the stolen car he was driving crashed into a car causing injury on Saturday during a pursuit by Carson City Sheriff's patrol officers.

William Vuki Wilson, 32, faces six felony charges including leaving the scene of an accident, DUI drugs, possessing a stolen vehicle, eluding, drug possession and reckless driving causing substantial bodily harm.

Cancer Drug Parity Bill Passes Assembly

A bill that requires medical insurance plans with cancer coverage to pay more for oral chemotherapy medications passes the Assembly 39-0 on Tuesday.

SB266, which passed the Nevada Senate unanimously in April, would require health insurers to not charge patients more for oral chemotherapy medications (pills) than patients who are undergoing traditional IV chemotherapy. Such drugs can cost patients as much as $2,000 to $10,000 per month.

Woman hits parked car, jailed for driving under influence of drugs

A 24-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday, May 20, 1:31 p.m. at the intersection of Division and Spear streets after hitting a parked car while allegedly under the influence of drugs.

Officers report the woman slurred her speech and had trouble balancing when they interviewed her about the accident. According to the arrest report, the woman told officers she was diabetic. Fire personnel on scene reported her blood sugar was slightly elevated but not to where it would cause a problem, the report states.

Man jailed for indecent exposure after allegedly urinating near door of casino

A 33-year-old Carson City man faces a gross misdemeanor charge of indecent exposure after allegedly urinating near the west door entrance of a Carson City casino early Monday morning.

Officers were called to the casino, located in the 2700 block of East William Street, at 2:40 a.m. after security reported an intoxicated man who wouldn't leave the premise. Two witnesses noted the man urinated on the side of the building, and it was also seen on casino surveillance.

Carson City men jailed after getting into fight over marijuana deal gone bad

Two Carson City men were arrested and face felony drug and weapons charges after fighting each other over a marijuana drug deal that soured.

Bob L. Cryderman, 56, and Vincent Morenz, 49, were arrested in the 600 block of South Roop Street on May 10 at 8:37 p.m. According to the arrest report, officers responded to the Roop address on a report of battery with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival officers met with Cryderman in an apartment who appeared moderately battered. He stated that he was attacked and beaten by Morenz who lived in a nearby apartment and that Morenz took his .38 revolver.

Ex-convict jailed for violating conditions of parole from prison

A 34-year-old Exeter, Calif., man was booked into Carson City Jail May 6 and faces a felony charge of being in violation of condition of his parole from prison.

Matthew Michael Ramos was jailed without bail, according to the Carson City Sheriff's Office arrest report. The State of Nevada warrant for his arrest was issued Sept. 13, 2012 for failure to comply with conditions laid out when he was granted parole on March 19, 2012.

Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies made several arrests this weekend, several for alcohol, drugs and battery-related offenses. Two of the arrests were were for felony DUI in which the drivers had two prior DUI convictions.

Carson City deputies make several court warrant arrests

Carson City sheriff's deputies have made several court violation arrests since Monday. The arrests have been both misdemeanor and felony related. Arrests have also been made that involved domestic abuse, theft, driving under the influence of drugs and huffing.

Deputies arrested a 28-year-old transient with outstanding felony and gross misdemeanor warrants. Melanie Huddleston, was arrested early Wednesday morning, 3:16 a.m. at a casino in the 3800 block of Highway 50 East.

Patricia Louise Barkley, was arrested at 12:11 p.m. April 20 on East Nye. According to the arrest report, officers stopped a vehicle based on information that the owner faced a warrant for his arrest.
