Carson City sheriff’s log: Man jailed after threatening co-worker with shovel

A 37-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested Thursday after allegedly threatening a co-worker with a shovel earlier in the day and then law enforcement later after he was arrested, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Law enforcement steps up DUI patrols through the holidays

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office along with other law enforcement agencies throughout the state are participating in Joining Forces through the remainder of December and into the first part of January 2016. The focus will be impaired drivers.

Salvation Army hosts Christmas job fair this Thursday

The Salvation Army will host a job fair this Thursday, Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to noon at its Family Services office: 661 Colorado St. Carson City.

The Salvation Army, which serves Carson City and Douglas County, will hire seasonal workers to help with their holiday programs such as Thanksgiving food drives, Christmas food drives, Angel Tree Christmas Toy distribution and their annual Red Kettle Campaign.

A 24-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday in the area of Stanton and Fairview streets on a felony drug charge and six misdemeanors after deputies found methamphetamine and paraphernalia in her purse, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Veterans residing in the state of Nevada should know they are eligible for either a discount on their property tax or vehicle registration. Simply visit your county Tax Assesor office and present a copy of your DD214 and ask to sign up for this program. The former Marine in line in front of me at the DMV was unaware of the program and I want to get the word out there.

Carson City sheriffs log: Pair arrested on felony drug trafficking charges

Two from South Lake Tahoe were arrested Thursday on felony drug trafficking and other charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of methamphetamine and heroin, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Elizabeth Gosh, 30, and Kyle Leake, 48, were taken into custody at 7:04 p.m. and booked into Carson City Jail.
