The Brewery Arts Center, Carson City’s premiere epicenter for the arts since 1975, will bring the World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra for an intimate show at Casino Fandango’s new Grand Ballroom on March 13.

Popular cowboy poets Harold Roy Miller and Tony Argento will offer a “Cowboy Poetry Duet” for the Friday Night Showcase at the Gold Hill Hotel, 1540 Main St., Gold Hill, on Friday, Nov. 18.

Miller and Argento have both performed cowboy poetry throughout the region for many years, and their work covers all aspects of rural life, with more than a touch of humor.

At Debug Computers where, in exchange for a donation to Holiday with a Hero, you can get a photo with the man in red. The Santa Train at the Nevada State Railroad Museum is a good place to grab a candy cane, some hot cocoa, and tell him what you’d like to find under the tree. Photographs with Santa are available at the Carson Mall Wednesday through Sunday. Genoa’s annual Breakfast with Santa has three seatings beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Senator Square: Rivalry between Carson and Douglas spreads to school staffs

The staff of Carson High School and Douglas High School have agreed to a rivalry basketball game to be played Nov. 19 at DHS. The staff basketball game is a fundraiser for the Peace Officer’s Memorial Fund.
Multiple members of each of the school’s staff will be on hand to battle it out on the basketball court and continue the rivalry, but for a good cause. Come support the Senators or the Tigers and be sure to wear your favorite school’s colors.

The Proscenium Players present 'Polter-heist: A Hauntingly Hiliarious Murder Mystery Dinner Theater Show' in the Pinion Room of the Gold Dust West Hotel and Casino for three weekends, starting Feb. 13. For Friday and Saturday showings the doors open at 5:45, and the one champagne brunch showing on Feb. 22 will begin at 12:45pm. Tickets are $35- $38 and must be bought in advance.

Senator Square: Holiday concerts ahead as Carson High choir students earn recognition

The Instrumental Music Department, Bands and Orchestra, is having its annual Winter Holiday Concert on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 7 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center. Donations are welcome. Meanwhile, Carson High School has had a number of their singing Senators recognized for their vocal talents already this year.

Rick dreams of striking it rich – then two crafty Native Americans try to claim the land and his gold-digging ex-wife Lola shows up.

Mystery Dinner Theater continues at Gold Dust West Hotel and Casino

Murder Mystery Dinner Theater Proscenium Players, Inc. in conjunction with the Gold Dust West Hotel and Casino in Carson City are about to unveil a mystery dinner show about an 80th birthday party attended by two feuding Irish families trying to get their hands on the Wild Irish Rose Whiskey recipe running weekends through Jan. 29. The performance is called "Eat, Drink & Be Murdered!"

"Le Grand Cirque" is acrobatics unlimited at the Eldorado in Reno

If you're looking for a family type night of entertainment, you could head for the Eldorado in Reno, where acrobats are flying through the air with if not the greatest of ease, then certainly with skills that border on the awesome. “Le Grand Cirque” is populated with a cast of --- don't know, seems like hundreds but is probably about 20 --- artists who make flying through the air, lifting one another with a single hand, and swooping about on nothing more than twisted tablecloths.
