The Brewery Arts Center in Carson City will feature the return of Blarney Man this Saturday as part of the Celtic Music Series.

Nevada Day and the big parade are just one week away, but first is the annual Carson City Ghost Walk this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in downtown Carson City.

The 2018-2019 Celtic Music Series at the Brewery Arts Center opens with the traditional Irish and Scottish music of Cooking With Turf, an acoustic trio from California’s Central Valley. This season opener happens at the Brewery Arts Center’s Performance Hall Theater this Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 7:00 PM.

The Brewery Arts Center continues its unforgettable season of free music under the stars in Carson City. With 9 concerts left this summer, grab your family, friends and neighbors and get ready to head on down to Carson City and Brewery Arts Center’s newest community treasure.

The Nevada Commission on Tourism on Monday approved more than $1 million in grant funding to rural communities to promote tourism through marketing projects. Among the Carson City area programs funded through the marketing grants:

The Brewery Arts Center in Carson City will presents New World String Project this Saturday, May 12 in the Maizie Harris Jesse Black Box Theater. Celtic series favorites Lisa Lynne and Aryeh Frankfurter are joined with John Weed and Stu Mason of Molly's Revenge to create a supergroup creating music that will shake your boots, uplift your sprit and warm your heart.

Hold onto your hats, Carson City, we’re in for a busy weekend. Several events over the last few weeks were re-scheduled due to weather: today you’ll find the make-up for The Greenhouse Project's Early Spring Plant Sale and the Carson High Safe Grad 5K Run/Walk. Get your Roller Derby fix with a scrimmage and a Junior Victory Rollers bout against Santa Cruz. The Bob Boldrick Theater at the Community Center is where you’ll find ‘Carson’s Got Talent.' This weekend may feel like it goes by a little quicker than usual, and it’s not your imagination. In the wee hours of Sunday morning we spring forward into Daylight Savings Time. The Brewery Arts Center Celtic Series goes Scottish this Saturday as folk music by the acclaimed duo Alan Reid and Rob van Sante take center stage at Maizie Harris Black Box Theater in Carson City.

The kids of Youth Theater Carson City present a junior adaptation of the musical favorite this weekend and next. The Experimental Aircraft Association hosts ‘Young Eagle’ flights every few months at the Carson Airport to give kids 8 – 17 a plane ride to remember. Although Veterans Day was observed yesterday, there are several things today that honor our former members of the military. Battle Born Harley Davidson is throwing an appreciation party complete with food trucks. Virginia City’s annual Veterans Day Parade begins at 11 a.m. and the City of Reno will commence their parade after a short ceremony beginning at 11:11 a.m. You’ll find an abundance of craft fairs in Carson City, Carson Valley, and Dayton. Wheatstone Bridge will brings its unique stylings of Americana, folk and Celtic to Carson City this Saturday, Nov. 11 with a performance at the Brewery Arts Center.

Leaves turning, wind blowing, and all things pumpkin sprouting up everywhere. It is absolutely autumn in Northern Nevada. Get ready for Halloween with your choice of pumpkin patches. Seeliger Elementary School is hosting theirs for the twenty-fifth year in a row. Take a trip on the V and T Steam Train at the Nevada Railroad Museum, actually take several trips. On Saturday, April 8 at 7 p.m. in the MHJ Black Box Theater, Brewery Arts Center continues the Celtic Music series with Richard Johnson. A ballad singer and a lifelong guitarist, Richard loves songs from the American and Irish traditions, the classic melodies of the 40’s, songs from his own generation and his own original songs.

Irish eyes are smiling on us: it’s going to be a gorgeous day. You won’t have to look far for some green beer, whiskey, or corned beef – there will be St. Patrick’s Day parties all over. Live music is on the menu, as well. Choose from Men of Worth at the Brewery Arts Center, an all ages punk show at Sassafras, or Stereo Galaxy in the McFadden Plaza, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The brave ones will be at the St. Baldrick Fundraiser at Red’s Old 395 where you’ll see some heads shaved for a good cause. Where ever you end up, just make sure you have a plan to get home safely.

What’s this? A weekend with no snow in sight? That’s the best news I’ve heard in months. Welcome to the wrestlers and swimmers who are in town for their respective tournaments: you’ll find other fun things on this list to occupy your downtime. It’s a St. Patty’s celebration in Virginia City this weekend with the parade, Rocky Mountain Oyster Fest, and Ball Buster Saloon Crawl. Bragging rights are on the line at the Sixth Annual Thirsty Boy Homebrew Competition sponsored by Just Brew It. You’ll get a sneak peek at the soon-to-open Shoe Tree Brewery if you attend the award ceremony.
