Carson City Parks and Rec hosts Saturday 'Spooktacular' Full Moon Hike at Silver Saddle Ranch
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Wed, 10/28/2020 - 12:45pmThe Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department will host a special Full Moon Hike this Saturday, October 31st, at Silver Saddle Ranch. Come experience a full moon costume adventure that can only happen once in a Blue Moon.
Meet at Silver Saddle Ranch dressed in your best Halloween Costume. We will walk to the Carson River and back to ranch in a 2 mile loop. The trail is considered Easy according to the IMBA Trail Rating System.

Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 10/23/2020 - 7:59amHello fellow anglers. In only a couple weeks time, we are going from fall to winter (but only briefly and then right back to fall). Still, it is a stern reminder that winter is right around the corner.
Last weekend, Renee and I fished the Truckee River with a friend. At 7 a.m. we were wearing flannels and jackets, by noon, we were back in tee shirts.
The fishing was very slow, but we did manage a few small rainbows to take our lures.

Running Friday, Oct. 23 through Sunday, Oct. 25 and Wednesday, Oct. 28 through Sunday, Oct. 31, V&T Railway will offer children and adult focused haunted railbike rides at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively.

To get a good look at the viewing, venture up through Highway 88 from Woodfords to Caples Lake. Another good area of fall color viewing is from Woodfords on Highway 89 up to Kinney reservoir on Highway 4 .
