Headed into Thursday, April 11, 2019 we welcome Carson City to another day where weather forecasters say there's a chance of rain and maybe even a few snow showers mixed in. Beyond the weather we're looking at a blockbuster day and night filled will activities throughout town. From library presentations, a TV show casting call at the Carson Nugget, an afternoon hike, to a train history presentation, a book signing at the Brewery Arts Center, a CHS theater performance and the Carson City movie screening premier of "The Mustang" filmed at the historic Nevada State Prison, there's something for everyone. CARSON CITY — Casting call for extras and minor roles for the third episode of locally filmed sitcom "Casino Boss" will be held at Alatte inside the Carson Nugget Casino, 507 N. Carson St., Thursday, April 11, at 2 p.m. Area residents and guests age 21 and over are encouraged to apply. No acting experience is necessary.

Well we're here Carson City. We're heading into March 15, the last Friday of winter 2019. While March 20 may be the first day of Spring, the weekend ahead is about the Irish and their spring. The exception is tonight where the Western Nevada College Chapter of the National Student Nurses' Association will be going Italian style with a fundraising spaghetti feed spread. Read on for more.

Enjoy the sunny skies while you can as a quick-moving weather system will blow in this afternoon into the evening bringing a chance for gusty winds and scattered rain and light snow showers. From Wednesday onward it looks like plenty of sunshine filled days extending into the weekend.

Uncovering Nevada’s past is the topic for the Carson City Leisure Hour Club on Wednesday, March 20. Presented by Dennis Casinelli, club members will learn about artifacts that he discovered while growing up in Nevada and during his long career as a highway engineer for the Nevada Department of Transportation. He also founded Cassinelli Landscaping and Construction, which still serves Northern Nevada today.

CARSON CITY — The Carson Nugget Casino Hotel celebrates its 65th anniversary with the grand opening of its new restaurant Angelina’s Bistro, a birthday cake and champagne toast, and the premiere of Casino Boss, episode 2 on Tuesday, March 12, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Carson Nugget, 507 N. Carson Street.

Daylight Savings Time is about to begin, harkening the approach of Spring. Winter, though, continues its stubborn hold on the region, so bundle up this weekend in spite the extra hour of daylight. There's a chance of snow showers throughout the weekend with daytime highs only into the low 40s.

This weekend calls for a celebration, because the first Saturday of March is upon us and that means the Carson City Downtown Business Association Wine Walk come rain, snow, wind or shine. And get this: Today's Wine Walk is the last one before Spring.

The ninth annual Carson High School Safe Grad Safe and Sober Run/Walk occurs at the CHS track.

And the 20th annual Feast of Chocolate, a scholarship fundraiser for the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Capital Branch, is being held at the Plaza Hotel Event Center.
