Nevada Raider Nation - Carson City Chapter will host an Oakland Raiders vs Minnesota Vikings game watch at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, at Jimmy G's, 301 N. Carson St.

New fans are welcome to join and sit (and scream) during the action of the game. Membership is just $20 per person.
Jimmy G's will offer drink specials during the game; those attending are welcome to bring a breakfast item to share, or donate to the cause.

Heading into Monday, Sept. 9, 2019 we're looking at the cooling trend to continue with mostly sunny skies and a daytime high in the mid-70s. Want to volunteer at the Nevada State Museum? There's training Monday and Tuesday for those interested. Other activities to get your first day of the work week going include art showings, West Coast swing dancing, and a presentation of the Eureka & Palisade Railroad at the Nevada State Railroad Museum. Nevada Raider Nation, Carson City Chapter will host an Oakland Raiders Game Watch Monday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m., at Jimmy G's in Carson City.

The season opener features our Oakland Raiders vs the Denver Broncos. Membership applications to the Chapter will be available for new members or returning members. Membership fee is $20 per person.

Coming up on Thursday, August 22, 2019, we can expect continued sunny skies with a daytime near 90. Among upcoming events: Thursday is the final day of the Jukebox International Film Festival at the Carson City Community Center. Take in a film screening and talk to the filmmakers who made them. There's a Polka Dot Powerhouse Carson City lunch connect at Red's Old 395 Grill, plus Food Truck Thursday at Mills Park and a volunteer expo hosted by Leadership Douglas County. There's also a discussion about aviation history and trends at the Nevada State Museum, a Carson City GOP information meeting on Block Chain technology, Jazz and Beyond music festival events and more. Heading into Saturday, May 18, 2019 we say welcome to the weekend Carson City. Activities abound throughout the region. Bring an umbrella as the forecast calls for some showers. But above all, enjoy the events and activities lined up in Carson City, Carson Valley, Mound House, Silver City, Virginia City and Dayton areas.

Raiders fans are welcome to join Nevada Raider Nation: Carson City Chapter, for a membership drive barbecue Saturday, May 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Espolon Grill y Tequileria in Moundhouse.

Members get together for each game to discuss players, trades, coaching staff and future events. Members are well-versed in history and the dynamics of the game and welcome all die-hard fans to join and attend.

Espolon will offer food and drink specials during this time; drawings will be held each hour for Raiders collectible items. Tickets will be sold 6 for $5.

Heading into Tuesday, May 7, 2019 we are looking at another picture perfect day for a morning or evening stroll with Carson City's own Muscle Powered and a bevy of events, including a chamber digital marketing workshop, Polka Dot Powerhouse Carson City Chapter meeting and open house, family movie and craft night at the Carson City Library, a filmmaking discussion followed by a showing of the classic "12 Angry Men" at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall and more. Good morning Carson City! Today is Saturday, April 6. While it's going to be a bit cloudy today, we'll have a high of 56 degrees. Sunday and Monday are almost hitting 70, though, with highs at 67 and 68!

On the docket for today is a Celtic Music concert, a Ducks Unlimited Banquet, the April Carson City Wine Walk, farming workshops, kitten parties, and more.

The Carson City chapter of Ducks Unlimited is hosting its annual banquet April 6 at Fuji Park Exhibit Hall. The banquet will feature high-quality firearms and art work, collector’s knife sets, carved decoys, and K2 coolers. The event is family friendly with special youth activities and drawings.

Good day Carson City, it is Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018. It is also Election Day. Polls in Nevada open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, enjoy another day of sunny skies with a hike, brisk walk or bike ride around town. There's both a morning and evening hike offered through Muscle Powered or you can simply walk through downtown Carson City and alongside the capitol building. Also featured today are activities that promote diabetes awareness through Carson Tahoe Health, numerous art showings, local political party election night events and a classic film being shown at the Brewery Arts Center.

Good morning Carson City. Today is Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018. For those keeping score, there are 77 days until Christmas. Among today's featured events are a morning organized walk and evening hike, an estate planning seminar, the second League of Women Voters Election Forum, a fundraiser for a Carson City woman diagnosed with cancer, art exhibits and live jazz.

Last Friday, I was enjoying Open Mic Night at A to Zen and sipping on a cup of tea, when my heart and mind was captured by a ukulele and the voice of Carson City newcomer Kelsey Kelly.

With daytime high temperatures in the low 70s, Sunday could just about be a near-perfect day for outdoor activities in celebration of September's swan song.

Join die-hard Raiders fans at Jimmy G's this Sunday, Sept. 30 for the Cleveland Browns vs. Oakland Raiders football game, kick off scheduled at 1:05 p.m.

The Nevada Raider Nation — Carson City Chapter, welcomes all football fans to their events. A barbecue will be available to members; those attending are asked to bring a side dish to share with other club members.

A recorded TED Talk by Dr. Jonathan Patz, and panel discussion by local experts on the impacts of warmer temperatures on our health will take place at Western Nevada Community College’s Marlette Hall on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. Marlette Hall is located in the Cedar Building on the south side of the Carson City campus.

The Carson City Chapter of Citizens' Climate Lobby meets the first Tuesday of every month to work on issues and solutions to climate change. We are focused on a non-partisan approach to creating a practical and needed fee on fossil fuels. Details about this proposal are available at citizensclimatelobby.org.

This morning on my radio show, I discussed the topic of forgiveness. It’s a tough subject, especially if you have been hurt. However, forgiveness is not for the person or situation being forgiven. It’s for you. And, sometimes, the person or situation isn’t the only thing that needs to be forgiven. You need to forgive yourself as well.

It’s a funny thing being in the business of helping businesses through challenge. Once a client is through their challenge or transition, our work is done. Clients work with me anywhere from one month to two years. No matter how long I work with a client, there is one requirement I provide right up front. No matter what happens, keep moving.
