Carson City sheriff's detectives seek public's help in identifying burglary suspect

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on a commercial burglary that Monday in the 1500 block of Old Hot Springs Road.

The suspect cut multiple camera wires and entered the business and took an undisclosed amount of money.

Carson City arrests: Man jailed on suspicion of child abuse, being a felon with a stun gun

UPDATE THURSDAY: Joseph Andrew Crump was arraigned Thursday in a Carson City courtroom. He was arraigned on suspicion of domestic battery first offense, being an ex-felon in possession of a stun gun, and being an ex-felon failing to register.
The District Attorney's Office hasn't concluded its investigation of felony child abuse, in which Crump was also arrested on suspicion. The matter remains under investigation. His bail remains at $40,000.

A 36-year-old Carson City man faces multiple charges including felony child abuse, being a felon in possession of a stun gun, domestic battery and being an ex-felon failing to register, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Nevada tourism agency partners with Google Maps in trekker campaign

TravelNevada joins the elite club of destination marketing organizations to borrow the Google Street View Trekker to collect images of less-traveled areas in Nevada for use on Google Maps. The areas will also be mapped on the TravelNevada website and available for use by any participating tourism entity, such as the many Nevada state parks that aided in filming.

The Capital City Arts Initiative announces its exhibition, Pinhole Properties, with artwork by artist Nancy Raven at the city’s Community Development Building [formerly the BRIC] located at 108 E Proctor Street, Carson City. The building is open to the public daily, 8am – noon, 1-4pm. The free exhibition will remain in the building’s lobby through July 6, 2016.

Carson City jail fight leads to two felony arrests

Two inmates at the Carson City jail were arrested on suspicion of felony battery Friday morning, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Raptors are visible in Carson City, too

The annual Eagles and Agriculture event kicks off this week in the Carson Valley, a wildlife viewing exhibition that attracts hundreds of visitors to the area to see birds of prey feeding and nesting below the eastern slopes of the Carson Range.

But Carson City residents don't have to leave the Eagle Valley to catch glimpses of raptors. We've got them in our own backyards.

Copyright attorney to speak about photo laws

Carson City Sheriff's Office seeks identity of burglary suspect

Carson City Sheriff’s Office asks for the public’s help identifying a possible burglary suspect. If you can identify the person in this picture please contact Deputy Jarrod Adams at 775 283-7854, email at jadams@carson.org. or Lt. Brian Humphrey at 775 283-7850.
Video has been provided to Carson Now from the burglary victim, who said the suspect has burglarized a storage unit on David Street several times.
The image was extracted from video surveillance the victim set up in the storage room in which the suspect had ripped a camera out of the wall.

Thousands of Nevada earthquakes kept UNR seismologists busy in 2015

More than 17,500 earthquakes were recorded in 2015 by the University of Nevada, Reno’s Nevada Seismological Laboratory. That includes the 231 recent quakes in south Reno and the magnitude 4.8 in Caliente that shook Las Vegas in January 2015.

I ran to my place and grabbed my camera then returned as they were leaving I asked Mr. and Mrs. Claus if I could get a photo. The Carson City Sheriff's Office is investigating a residential burglary that happened Friday morning in the Northridge subdivision area.
The suspects are described as a male and female driving a late model black Kia as seen in the photos above. Estimated loss exceeds $10,000. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 887-2012.

Christmas parade Saturday in downtown Carson City

Dashing through the snow via a U.S.S. Nevada Burning Man Art Car will be the order of the morning for Santa Claus, a band of elves and anyone who wishes to participate in Saturday's Downtown Carson City Christmas Parade.
