Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company's Virtual Choir debuts with ‘One Day More’

Western Nevada College, working with a core of performers from the Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company, has created a virtual choir — Broadway Rising! — to share the power and beauty of Broadway during these times when live performance is no longer possible.

Senator Square: A reminder to the CHS family that every day is new, live it to the fullest

Is this pandemic over with yet? Nope! Not to beat a dead horse, but what is everyone doing with all this time off? For some, time off would be a fantastic development in their busy lives, and for others, time off would be an awful development because they are not able to pay their bills if they cannot go to work.

The point here is clear: Those who need time off cannot have it, and those who have time off do not want it. This is where hope, attitude, and contentment come into play. It is time for a laugh.

Carson City's ‘I Voted’ Sticker Design Competition Student Winners Announced

Today, the Carson City Department of Arts & Culture in partnership with the Carson City Clerk-Recorder’s Office announced the winners from the ‘I Voted’ sticker design competition.

The competition was open to students grades 9-12 enrolled in any high school in Carson City, Nevada. Students were encouraged to submit creative designs that excite and encourage voting participation.

Shanell Cavener is this year’s Carson High School Teacher of the Year, and she could not be more deserving of the honor. Shanell is quiet, often working behind the scenes in ways people would not even realize in order to benefit the lives of all who enter CHS.

Local Carson City companies offered cash, gift bags and pet food at Brewery Arts Center to help struggling locals Friday

Carson City’s local businesses the Change Companies and Benson's Feed teamed up Friday afternoon at the Brewery Arts Center to offer a drive-thru for residents where they served up bags of non-perishables, dog and cat food, and $100 bills.

Carson City officials are continuously monitoring the level of risk of COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) to the community.
