Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 02/13/2017 - 1:47pmTravelers hoping to get to Tahoe have some routes to take. Caltrans has opened State Route 89 along the west shore of Lake Tahoe, enabling motorists to travel between the north and south end of the lake without having a multi-hour detour.
Highway 50 at Logan Creek near Cave Rock on the east shore of Lake Tahoe remains closed due to an unstable hillside above the road. Motorists attempting to get to south shore Lake Tahoe can take State Route 207 over Kingsbury Grade.
