Carson City man arrested for drug charges in the same parking lot he was arrested in the month before

A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested on three alternative sentencing violations as well as possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, and driving without a valid license.

According to the report, Special Enforcement Team deputies were patrolling in an unmarked police vehicle in the area of William and Stewart when they witnessed a man seated upright in the driver seat of a vehicle who continued to duck up and down in the driver’s seat.

Carson City deputies arrest men for possession of drugs, bottled mercury

A 31-year-old Gardnerville man and a 29-year-old transient man were arrested in the area of the Goni Water Tower after deputies were alerted to a man in a vehicle next to the tower who appeared to be incapacitated and found they were allegedly using drugs and were in possession of several bottles of mercury.

Carson City deputies arrest 18-year-old for probation violation after driving 10 mph in a 25 mph zone

— An 18-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the area of 5th and Carson Street for probation violation after driving an unregistered vehicle at 10 mph in a 25 mph zone.

According to the report, deputies were patrolling in the area of 5th and Stewart when they began following an unregistered vehicle traveling at a slow rate of speed, clocking in at 10 mph in a 25 mph zone.

The vehicle then turned into the Nevada Legislature service ramp area and a male and female exited the vehicle and walked away.

Special Enforcement Team, Gang Unit arrest three family members for drugs, harboring a fugitive

Three family-members were arrested by Special Enforcement Team Deputies of the Carson City Sheriff’s Office after parents of a fugitive harbored their daughter to avoid arrest on a burglary warrant.

According to the police report, Adrianna Vanegas 24, Christine Vanegas 47, and Felipe Antonio Vanegas 53, were arrested in the 2200 block of Mayflower Way Thursday afternoon after it was determined Christina and Felipe were harboring their daughter, Adrianna, who was a fugitive for justice and had an outstanding felony burglary warrant for her arrest.

When the families and friends of Lyfe Recovery clients were introduced to the facility, they were sold on the idea that their loved ones would be in a supervised sober environment to help them beat their addictions. However, what Lyfe Recovery turned out to be was a shell, barely meeting the minimum requirements. Unfortunately, for Joe Tummarello, the minimum for his own needs weren’t met during his time at the Carson City based sober-living facility, which allegedly contributed to his death.

Lightning touches off fast moving wildfire in Jacks Valley

UPDATE 5:52PM: According to Douglas County's Facebook page: "Things appear to be settling down out on Jacks Valley due to a little help from the rain. Residents are still being asked to remain aware!" Also noteworthy is the brush unit that Carson City sent to fight the fire, has since returned to Carson City.

According to CCFD Chief Sean Slamon, there were no fires burning in Kings Canyon. The Fire Department received calls, checked it out, and the smoke was drift smoke from the Jacks Valley Fire. CCFD did knock down a fire at residence on Muldoon Street in town. The small fire was caused by a lightning strike on the roof of the residence.

Family searches for answers to why father died after stay in Carson City sober-living home

When Joe Tummarello moved into a sober living home in Carson City called Lyfe Recovery, his friends and family thought he was doing well. However, at the end of July, he wound up in the hospital after his health declined rapidly. His family says this was due to severe neglect at the hands of the owner and manager of the facility. By several accounts, he was denied medical treatment until a senior living home provider stepped in and took him to the hospital, where he died a week later.

The question is: did Joe Tummarello die before his time? And if the answer is yes, then is someone responsible for his demise?

Carson City Fire Department respond to injured motorcycle rider in Brunswick Canyon

UPDATE: The injured motorcycle rider was treated by Carson City Fire Department personnel and flown via Care Flight to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno, said battalion Chief Jason Danen. His condition is unknown at this time.

Carson City Fire Department was called Sunday afternoon to the Brunswick Canyon area for an injured motorcycle rider in the backcountry. A CareFlight helicopter was ordered and landed in the area near the patient.

UPDATE: Missing Carson City elderly woman found safe after spending night outside

UPDATE: 7:24 AM: Carson City Sheriff's Office SAR reports the missing elderly woman has been located. She is safe and will be evaluated by Carson City Fire Department. She was found, outside, north of the Carson Plaza Senior Independent Living residence off of East Long Street.
