Max Casino in Carson City has announced the grand opening of LA LUNA Bar and Lounge, in what promoters say will be an "electrifying" and vibrant addition to Carson City's nightlife. Doors open at 10 p.m.

Bob Zany's Big Money Comedy Game Show will be featured at the Carson Nugget on Saturday, Dec. 30, with two shows at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. The Carson Nugget is located at 507 North Carson Street. Go here for more information and to purchase tickets.

Opening weekend of LA Luna Bar and Lounge at Max Casino in Carson City continues on Saturday featuring the Rock Hard Burlesque show "Velvet Vixens," a sensational act celebrating seven years in Lake Tahoe, will appear at the new LA LUNA Bar & Lounge inside MAX Casino. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here. This event is strictly for individuals 21 years of age or older.

Learn Dayton’s best kept historical secrets at the Dayton Museum

Do you want to know the historic town of Dayton’s best kept secrets? Dayton Museum opened for the season on March 4 at the town’s 1865 schoolhouse at 135 Shady Lane. The museum promotes the discovery of the culture, the tools used by the pioneers, their lifestyles and names of many who settled in Dayton 174 years ago. Ask about the Genealogy research and names saved on our computers. The museum contains displays of Nevada’s earliest history.

Sunday Bingo at the Carson City Senior Center. The renovations to the Carson City Senior Center are finally wrapping up. Sunday BINGO will be returning, on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month.

Connections storytelling group host weekly meetings at Comma Coffee, Brewery Arts Center

Connections gatherings are currently hosted every Saturday at Comma Coffee, 312 S Carson St, Carson City, from 10:30 am until noon, and the third Thursday of every month from 5 to 6:15 p.m. at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W King St, Carson City.

'Windows to the Soul' exhibit by James Gayles featured at Carson City Courthouse Gallery through January 24

James Gayles’ watercolor portraits aren’t just real, they seem to tell a story. The Capital City Arts Initiative’s exhibition, "Windows to the Soul", presents James Gayles’ watercolor paintings at the Courthouse Gallery from Oct. 4, 2023 through Jan. 25, 2024.

Art with Aloha at the Carson City Community Center through Feb. 22

Jackie Pias Carlin’s art brings fresh air with tropical flora beauty to our wintery season. Carlin’s show, "Art with Aloha", will be in the Community Center’s Crowell Board Room, through Feb. 22, 2024. The Community Center is located at 851 E William Street, Carson City. The Crowell Board Room is open for all the city’s public meetings and upon request.

On Friday, the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada announced its expansion into Minden.

“We are so incredibly honored to announce the brand-new Wray Family Clubhouse opening in August of 2024 in Minden,” a spokesperson wrote.

Carson High Speech and Debate will be hosting the inaugural Carson High Show and Shine car show Saturday May 25th in the north parking lot of CHS from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A 63-year-old housekeeper was arrested Thursday for 14 counts of credit card fraud and other offenses after allegedly stealing a credit card belonging to an 86-year-old patient who family members said was being treated for a stroke at a local care facility, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office detective.

On May 15th, 2024, shortly after midnight, deputies with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence located on the 600 block of Angela Street in Fernley, Nev., reference a caller who reported that he had murdered his mother. The caller additionally provided that he barricaded himself inside the house, was armed with a rifle, and had planted pipe bombs at the residence.
