Pro-police rally takes to legislature steps in Carson City, protesting possible police reform
A special session was meant to be held Thursday, July 30 which would discuss COVID-19 issues, problems with unemployment, voting reform, and possible police reform, among other issues.
However, Gov. Steve Sisolak announced Wednesday the special session would be postponed until at least Friday or through the weekend.
Regardless, a pro-police rally had already formed to protest police reform potentially being discussed during the session.
Several Republican Assembly members, Congress members and a state senator spoke on the legislature steps to chants of "Defend the Police," "911 is for everyone" and "Defund Democrats" beginning at 8 a.m.
A march to the police memorial followed, and several supporters held signs and waved flags as traffic drove by on Carson Street.
