Letter: Newspaper knowingly prints lies
Editor's note: This is a letter to the editor submitted to the Nevada Appeal last month that they chose not to run.
Dear Editor,
Is it the policy of the Nevada Appeal to print demonstrably false attacks on the editorial page? I'm referring to the letter to the editor on June 25 that claims, "There is incontrovertible proof that an ineligible usurper sits in the White House."
These "Birther" crazies have been proven wrong over and over again, yet you continue to propagate these lies. Does this newspaper have a responsibility for printing the truth?
What if someone made up a story that Sen. Dean Heller has a secret love child? Would you print that, or is your policy to only allow lies slandering Democrats? Your choice to print this letter will answer that question.
If you allow things you know aren't true to be printed on the editorial page, how can we trust what we read in the rest of the paper?
