Confirmed: Tripped breaker caused lights to malfunction Saturday in Carson City
As suspected, it was a tripped breaker that prevented the lights on Carson Street from coming on automatically on Saturday night following the Taste of Downtown festivities, reports Scott Fahrenbruch, director of operations for the Carson City Parks and Recreation Department, in an e-mail.
"As Murphy's Law would have it of course it can't do it just any old night, but during an event like the Taste of Downtown. It's back up and running," Scott says.
He added that staff will remind future event organizers that the city has on-call and after-hours staffing available for these types of situations, and if it ever again happens, the organizers can call the Carson City Sheriff's non-emergency dispatch and they will respond.
