Moxy Ruckus will take the stage at this year’s Capital City Brewfest
Love beer? Great. Love music? Even better. You’ll be on your feet when Moxy Ruckus takes the stage at this year’s Capital City Brewfest.
The party happens Saturday, June 25th along Curry Street at McFadden Plaza.
Hosted by the Rotary Club of Carson City and co-sponsored by the Fox Brewpub, the event is the club’s major fundraiser and benefits its many community projects and youth programs.
“We are super excited to take part in this year’s Brewfest,” said band founder and lead singer Monique Haviland. “It’s a wonderful community event and fundraiser, and we look forward to raising spirits, and celebrating after a couple of tough years. It will be epic to finally be able to bring positive musical energy into a well-beloved event.”
The band was schedule to perform at the last two Capital City Brewfest. Covid restrictions canceled the event in 2020 and smoke and poor air quality caused the cancelation in 2021.
Haviland says performing again has been great. “The energy we have seen at our recent shows is amazing. People are cutting loose again and having fun. I’m sure it will be same, if not even more so at the Brewfest.”
Nearly three dozen brewers will be represented at this year’s Capital City Brewfest, along with several food trucks. Event organizer and Rotarian Jim Gray says the community is ready for a great summer and the Capital City Brewfest is a great way to kick off the season. “The people I’ve talked with are looking forward to the return of the summer events this area is known for and the Capital City Brewfest is at the top of the list. The brewers are excited as well, interacting with customers is important to them, and the Brewfest helps them do just that.”
Gray adds that the music always adds to the fun. “I’m looking forward to seeing the band on the McFadden Plaza Stage and the plaza filled with happy people!”
Moxy Ruckus showcases music from the 80s, 90s and now. Haviland says the band loves to perform and hopes that people find joy in their music. “You can expect us to play everything from Tom Petty tunes to Dua Lipa, classic funk, roots rock and fiery blues. Something for everyone.”
Tickets to the Capital City Brewfest are $35.00 in advance and $40.00 at the door. They are available at www.capitalcitybrewfest.com.
