Man jailed for domestic battery, firing gunshots inside south Carson City home
A 57-year-old Douglas County man was arrested early Wednesday morning at a Tourmaline Way home south of Carson City on suspicion of shooting multiple rounds of gunfire in his home and domestic battery.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded at 4 a.m. to a domestic dispute call with gun fire at the home off of Mica Drive south of Carson City. Deputies arrived at the residence and heard additional gun fire coming from the home. Soon after, the alleged suspect, Daniel Vanhooser exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident, said Douglas County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Pat Brooks.
The investigation showed Vanhooser fired numerous rounds inside the residence.
Minor injuries were reported during this incident however, none of the injuries were caused by the firearm, said Brooks.
Vanhooser was booked into the Douglas County Jail for domestic battery and discharging a firearm in a dwelling. His bail has been set at $28,006.
