Carson City Chamber hosts Groundbreaking Ceremony for new ‘My Place’ Hotel
Carson City Chamber hosted a Ground Breaking event today in a prime area on North Carson St. for a new extended stay hotel of the “My Place Hotels” national chain.
Construction is now underway on the city’s newest hotel, which is a family owned business and real American success story.
My Place is excited to invest and participate in Carson City’s community, a spokesperson of the hotels said.
The My Place Hotel lodging establishment is aimed at guests who stay in Carson City for one week or more, boasting 64-rooms. Amenities on site include in-room kitchenettes, laundry service, a coffee lounge, business center, and more.
The new hotel will be located at 17 Hospitality Way.
Jason Welk of Carson Hotel Group stated:
“Carson City has a great mix of tourism, corporate and government-based lodging demand. We are excited to be joining the Chamber of Commerce and working with the Carson City Culture and Tourism Association. Under Mr. Peterson, the future of tourism for Carson City is very bright. Carson City has much to offer leisure travelers as well as those in town on business. In either case, the CCCTA slogan holds true, ‘Your Nevada Experience Starts Here.’ We are excited to serve the needs of all Carson City visitors.”
All My Place Hotel locations are franchised and Carson City’s is owned by Carson Hotel Group, LLC, helmed by owners Jason Welk and Tom Ames, who retired as a Nevada Highway Patrol Lieutenant after 27 years of service.
Carson City is My Place Hotel's second Nevada location. Currently, there is a My Place Hotel in North Las Vegas. The chain is relatively new, opening their first hotel in Dickinson, ND in February 2012.
