Carson City scout Luke Bowler generates more than $6,000 in popcorn sales
The Pine Nut District of Boy Scouts of America’s Northern Nevada Council has reason to celebrate. Luke Bowler, center, is congratulated by Past President of the Nevada Area Council Jim Rogers, left, and Scout Executive Keith Ashby, right, on his accomplishment of more than $6,000 in sales for the annual Popcorn Sales in 2014.
He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 16 of Carson City. According to his father, Dan Bowler, in the prior year, Luke was No. 5 seller in the nation as well as No. 1 in the council with sales of more than $17,000. He set an all-time Council Record at $18,432 four years ago.
This is a family tradition. Luke’s brother Nick has been the No. 1 popcorn seller twice and Luke has accomplished that feat three times as each brother finishing second or third for three times in the last 6 years. Together, Nick and Luke Bowler have had more than $80,000 in popcorn sales. That must be a record.
Also honored was Rahul Bokka, a Carson City Webelo, for his popcorn sales. He is congratulated by Scout Executive Keith Ashby.
