Southwest Gas alerts customers to scammers posing as utility employees
Southwest Gas is warning customers about a number of individuals who have posed themselves as utility employees in the Carson City area.
In a news release the utility noted that employees always wear a company uniform, display Southwest Gas identification cards, usually only come to a home and enter when service is requested at the customers request and identify themselves and the purpose of their visit.
"Customer safety is always our highest priority," said Julie Williams, Northern Nevada Division vice president. "If a customer is in doubt as to the authenticity of the individual, they should call our customer service office to verify the employee's identity and reason for the visit."
