Carson City's The Greenhouse Project announces flower basket sponsorships available
It is that time of year when The Greenhouse Project staff begins planting petunia seeds that will be nurtured to maturity before being transplanted into huge baskets and hung throughout Carson City's downtown historic district and corridor in June. Grown at Green Central, our primary location at Carson High School, flowers not used in the baskets, are part of the offerings at our Mother's Day Plant Sale.
There are 30 baskets remaining, available for sponsorship on a first-come basis, and must be ordered by Feb. 1, 2023.
The Greenhouse Project provides these baskets each year thanks to the generous support of area businesses, individuals and collectives. This beautiful complement is enjoyed by locals and visitors to the community each summer. Each basket is accompanied by an engraved placard.
It is TGP's way of saying, "thank you" for the support of its mission of growing, giving and teaching by providing agricultural education to area students and supplying fresh produce grown at Green Central and the Foothill Garden at Carson Tahoe Hospital, to the community's outreach programs that assist the community's food insecure.
Sponsorship covers the costs of seeds, soil, baskets, lamp post hangers and placards, and offset watering costs and maintenance throughout the season.
This is a wonderful way to promote your business, commemorate a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary or to remember a loved one.
Baskets can be purchased by individuals or collectives. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. To sponsor a basket, please visit www.carsoncitygreenhouse.org , and fill out and return the order form per the instructions there.
