Man jailed on battery charge after allegedly punching girlfriend's father
A 28-year-old Reno man was arrested Monday in the 1300 block of Ladera Drive on suspicion of misdemeanor battery after he allegedly punched his girlfriend’s father in the face when he was told to leave the woman alone, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, the man was at the Ladera residence and asked to leave by his girlfriend. When he refused to leave, saying he was going to gather his belongings, the girlfriend called her parents.
Arriving at the home were the woman’s father, mother and brother. The father and mother each repeatedly asked the suspect to leave. He ignored their commands, according to the arrest report. The father then attempted to remove the man from his daughter’s bedroom by grabbing his shoulders.
The suspect then allegedly attacked the father, punching him several times in the face and head. The mother and daughter each attempted to get the suspect away from the father and the mother was struck in the eye by the suspect though she told police she didn’t know if it was intentional.
The father received a bloody nose and cut right eye. The suspect claimed he was a pro boxer and “f***ed him up,” referring to the father. He was arrested at 10:10 p.m. on the misdemeanor charge. Bail: $1,137.
— A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 1:15 p.m. in the area of Fifth and Thompson streets on two misdemeanor warrants for criminal contempt. The first warrant was issued Aug. 4, 2014 out of Reno Township Court and the second, issued Aug. 21, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $2,140.
— A 23-year-old Carson City woman, Kady Joanne Werlinger, was arrested Monday, 7:46 a.m. on suspicion of a felony parole and probation violation. She was located in the restroom of Walmart with drug paraphernalia and unpaid for merchandise in her purse, according to the arrest report. No bail hold pending hearing.
Those arrested and facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
