The Nature of Peace
Peace is often idealized by misguided philosophers , and cynical or delusional politicians , who can always prove beyond doubt that surrender is the only possible path. However, it is best understood by soldiers who have earned peace by defeating tyrannies of evil, murder and slavery. Children with flowers who idealistically chant slogans for peace, like many philosophers and childish politicians, live in a pretend fantasy world that knows nothing of; history, courage, tragedy, sacrifice and sorrow . The soldier learns the true nature of peace from the experience of war and battle . Sadly, every generation has known war despite countless false claims of having achieved ' peace in our time' throughout human history.
The story of civilization is replete with examples of enlightened peace loving humans being murdered by the ancient tyrannies and executed by mindless savages whose only superiority is in their method or manner of killing. For civilization to survive, each generation must match the subhuman savage with a greater strength that can only be relearned from the lessons of history and a revival of the forgotten art of survival. Ultimately every human must master the ability to count the murdered and to number the slaves in a calculus of who, and what, is the evil that would end peace on Earth.
Nature, in her final analysis, only counts survivors and never accounts for those souls killed by her mindless, subhuman, packs of animals . The laws of nature do not weigh the concepts of evil, slavery or murder. These evils are only judged within the laws of God and civilization. The remedy for war, known as peace, resides only within humans where whispers of hope resonate within the immortal dimensions of the human soul. Subhuman animals lack both an immortal soul and the human heart. Though animals may sometimes appear to be human they can never hide their behavior nor their true nature and appetite for endless murder and slavery . The only way humans will ever know peace is to learn to recognize the difference between humans and the mindless, soulless, animals that try to masquerade as human even as they, once again, begin to murder and enslave humans without mercy .
The nature of peace requires the human qualities of heart, soul, and courage combined with the wisdom from the lessons of history. Only the lessons of history, after being relearned by every human, can forever end all the ancient tyrannies of murder and slavery. For evil spawns within ancient ideologies, as tyranny disguised, to resurrect that ancient enemy and nemesis of peace that we call war.
It is the wise veteran who will remember the dead and whisper that sacred prayer of ' never again '. It is the wise veteran that renews the hope for enduring peace that embodies that elusive, and ignored or forgotten, golden rule . Until all mankind becomes wise, we must frequently revisit the lessons of history and heed the advice of those few courageous souls willing to defend civilization with the pledge of ' never again ' that veteran soldiers personify through their willingness to risk their own life to save others and preserve civilization. Never again should subhuman animals be allowed to ascend their evil thrones of murder to rule over human slaves . Peace vanishes, when we forget these bitter lessons of history. Veterans, (unlike children, philosophers and politicians), remember and pray for that lasting peace that only comes after the ancient tyrannies of murder and slavery have been defeated, yet again.
Those who would create peace must learn, from the lessons of history, to count the murdered and number the slaves as they voice the prayer, and our only hope for peace, solemnly promising;
Never Again - so help me God!
