PCAP viewing party and foster parent info session in Carson City
The Nevada Division of Child & Family Services in partnership with Prevent Child Abuse Nevada, C.A.S.A of Carson City, and Ron Wood Family Resource Center presents The Pinwheels for Child Abuse Prevention (PCAP) Viewing Party & Foster Parent info session on April 1, 2022, at 6:30 PM in McFadden Plaza in Carson City.
In honor of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, we take a deeper look at the challenges faced by children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect.
We will project A 12-minute short-film, called ReMOVED followed by testimony from a local former foster youth on how foster care changed their life. The event will conclude with educating the public on ways they can help children facing abuse & neglect including but not limited to becoming a foster parent, and becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate.
McFadden Square will be decorated in a pinwheel garden symbolizing the carefree childhood every child deserves. More information on foster parenting can be found at www.ruralnvfostercare.com
