The Nevada State Museum's annual Día de los Muertos celebrated even through chilly weather in Carson City

The Nevada State Museum presented a free Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, event in collaboration with Western Nevada College and Visit Carson City on Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. till 3 p.m.
The event celebrated a traditional Mexican holiday that pays tribute to the lives of loved ones who have passed on. It was filled with delightful crafts, traditional music, folk dancing and a food truck with plenty of options to choose from.

Two crows swooped and dived bombed a great horned owl on my neighbors’s roof Friday near Carriage Square Park in Carson City.

My little dog had a stalker on Sunday morning during our walk off Airport Road near Fifth Street, in front of the animal shelter in Carson City. So much so we had to leave and go somewhere else to walk. Always be aware of what's around you.
Ready for Nevada Day? Parade entries, decoration contest signups now underway

Nevada Day, Inc. announced Thursday that the applications for parade entries are available online at NevadaDay.com. Parade entrants can complete their application, including float description and commentary for announcers to read when their float goes by.
DMV to go appointment-only; most walk-ins at Carson City, other metro offices won't be accepted

CARSON CITY – The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles will end most walk-in services and switch to an appointment-only business model starting Monday, August 15.
