Carson Valley Sertoma's annual coat drive kicks off with focus on warm coats, mittens and gloves for kids

A huge thank you goes out to Costco Wholesale Corp., in Carson City for kicking off this season with their donation of $125 toward the purchase of much needed kid sized coats.

Call For Auditions: 'The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee' Dec. 1 and Dec. 4

Auditions are Dec. 1 at 6:00 p.m. and December 4 at 10:00 a.m. The cast includes both adults and teens.
Piano accompaniment is available or bring your own music.
Show dates are March 18, 19, 25 and 26 at 7:30, March 20 and 27 at 2:00pm.

This year, due to so many Nevadans choosing to become vaccinated and the lifting of certain mandates from Gov. Steve Sisolak, the Nevada Day Parade will continue as planned.

By the early 20th century, many Nevada towns and fraternities had organized teams. Minor league baseball did not arrive until 1947, when the Las Vegas Wranglers and the Reno Silver Sox played in the sprawling Sunset League.
