Managing Growth in Carson City, Nevada

Build2Win is sponsoring a dialogue with Carson City Supervisor Lisa Schuette on growth management. Growth Management Committee was initiated in 1978 in response to growth that was pressuring the City’s ability to provide critical services and infrastructure. This Committee regulates residential growth by limiting the number of building permits for residential units each year in Carson City.

The Nevada Department of Education and the Office of Governor Joe Lombardo announced Monday the release of the first round of $70 million in funding for the Early Childhood Innovative Literacy Program.

The funding was made possible by the passage of, Governor-sponsored, Assembly Bill 400 during the 2023 session of the Nevada Legislature. The funds can be used to support early childhood literacy and readiness programs for children under six years of age.

Beginning Monday, July 17, the Blackwell’s Pond Park Playground Project will begin, with completion anticipated in late October, according to Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space. The entire playground will be replaced.

Kids & Horses partners with Connected Horse to offer powerful workshops to individuals with memory loss and their care partners.
