Evacuations made in Coleville, Walker due to Slink Fire, US 395 closed at Topaz and Eastside lanes

The Mono County Sheriff's Office issued an evacuation order Monday evening for Coleville and Walker due to the Slink Fire and has closed Highway 395 from Topaz Lane to Eastside Lane south of Topaz Lake.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Monday, August 31, 2020 that there are 13 new cases and 15 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 1,021, with 921 recoveries and fifteen deaths, 85 cases remain active.
