Autopsy: Brothel owner, Assembly candidate Dennis Hof died of natural causes

Georges Seurat was a French post-Impressionist artist who is best known for the painting technique known pointillism. Have fun spending the day learning about him and practicing in his style. He painted in oils, but you're welcome to paint in any medium you prefer.

Carson City’s Bus Boy hosts grand opening Thursday at Mills Park
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Thu, 03/28/2019 - 12:39pmCarson City’s newest restaurant-on-wheels, Bus Boy, is holding a grand opening today, Thursday, at Mills Park with a Carson City Chamber event planned from 5 to 7 p.m., and a ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled at 5:30 p.m.
They’ll be serving up food from their double decker, 36-foot long, 15-foot tall British icon blue bus throughout the day on Oxoby Loop at Mills Park.
Man sentenced to 34 years in prison in Carson City's first convicted hate crime
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Thu, 03/28/2019 - 11:40amTravis Mickelson, a Dayton resident, was sentenced to 11 to 34 years in prison Thursday in Carson City District Court in what was tried and prosecuted as Carson City's first hate crime.
In November of 2018, Mickelson was convicted by a jury in Judge James Russell's court of attempted murder with hate crime enhancements, as well as battery and assault with a deadly weapon.
Carson City firefighters knock down blaze at Adele's restaurant
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Thu, 03/28/2019 - 10:55amUPDATE 7:18AM: Carson City Fire Department knocked down a fire at Cafe at Adele's early Thursday morning. The fire caused damage to a storage room located in the back of the restaurant. No one was at the restaurant at the time and there were no injuries, said Carson City Fire Chief Sean Slamon. The cause is under investigation.

A fire has been reported at Cafe at Adele's on North Carson Street. The fire was reported at 5:19 a.m. by a security guard working for another company who passed by the restaurant and saw smoke. Firefighters are on the scene.
The fire was in the rear of the building, and chef/owner Charlie Abowd said it appears to have started in the laundry storage area. The building was built in 1864, and the restaurant has been in the Abowd family for 41 years.
Arbor Day Celebration 2019

Come celebrate with us as we plant a new tree in Mills Park and read Mayor Bob Crowell's proclamation. An educational activity about the importance of trees will follow the ceremony. The planting and the lesson will mainly be for the Before & After School Program kids, but the public is more than welcome to watch and learn as well!
