Sheriff's deputies give little Carson City resident a thrill

A Carson City toddler got a thrill Friday evening when he spotted a Carson City Sheriff's motorcycle and patrol vehicle parked outside of Taqueria La Salsa restaurant, 1946 E. William Street.

Missing snowmobile rider found dead on Tahoe Rim Trail near Spooner Summit

On Thursday, March 29 at approximately 4:50 p.m., deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the Tahoe Rim Trail at Spooner Summit for a reported missing person.

Two vehicle accident blocking traffic on North Carson Street

A two-vehicle accident in the 1800 block of North Carson Street is partially blocking the northbound lanes of Carson Street.

There are no injuries, according to Carson City Dispatch, but traffic is affected. Motorists are advised of congestion in that area.

Law enforcement is on scene.

River Wranglers engages local youth in watershed education

River Wranglers (RW), a youth-oriented watershed education organization based in Carson City, has just wrapped up its fall season.

RW’s Education and Outreach Coordinator Julia Keane led students through different programs that focus specifically on the Carson River Watershed.

Keane came on board in October of 2017 as an AmeriCorps Member from the Sierra Nevada AmeriCorps Partnership (SNAP).

Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Convicted felons arrested on weapons, drug offenses

A pair of convicted felons were arrested late Thursday night at 11:40 p.m. for multiple felony offenses, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported, including firearm and drug possession.

Carson City emergency crews respond to structure fire on Sandy Circle

UPDATE: 1:30PM: Flames have been knocked down at the residence on Sandy Circle, firefighters on scene report. However, the fire was in three separate areas of the structure and crews continue working to ensure the fire is extinguished.

Carson Tahoe Eggstravaganza a hopping success

Carson Tahoe’s annual Easter Eggstravaganza event held from 4–6 p.m. Thursday on the Carson Tahoe Hospital campus in Carson City was a hopping success and good time for all, said Carson Tahoe Communications Specialist Erin Meyering.

No increase in Nevada’s minimum wage, daily overtime rates for 2018

The Office of the Labor Commissioner has released the annual bulletins for Nevada’s minimum wage and daily overtime requirements that will take effect July 1.

The rates for the upcoming year will remain unchanged from last year.
