Come out and join us for free hikes each week to enjoy Nevada outdoors around Carson City! Meet in the trailhead parking area at the corner of 5th Street and Carson River Road, entrance on Carson River Road.

Tuesday Hikes Program is evening hikes of 4-6 miles in length with an elevation gain, sometimes over 500 feet and usually on single track trail. Water and sturdy boots or athletic shoes required. Hiking poles, hat, and sunscreen recommended.

The Salvation Army serving Carson City and Douglas County has begun the second phase of its capital campaign to raise $1.2 million needed to move from its Colorado Street location in Carson City to a bigger place.

U.S. Rep. Mark Amodei, R-Nev., went on a profanity-laced tirade aimed at Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke after a recent leadership shakeup at the Bureau of Land Management in Nevada, an audio recording obtained by the Reno Gazette Journal reveals.
