Mac the Naw: From Tahoe to Topaz, April fishing looks promising

Hello fellow anglers, last weekend Renee and I took an adventure through Alpine County. We started at Red Lake and ventured back through Hope Valley. We then took a turn up to Monitor Pass along the east Carson River.

Flying Pig Flea Market April 29-30

Annual Carson High School Band Fundraiser set for April 8 at Governor's Mansion

The Carson City Band Association, Inc. will host its annual Wine and Silent Auction “Let’s Wine Together” fundraiser at the Governor’s Mansion on April 8, 2017 from 5-7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and include wine and appetizers. Music will be provided by some of our own Carson High band students.

Emergency crews called to vehicle crash into tree near College Drive, Combs Canyon Road

Carson City Fire Department was called Wednesday night to a single-vehicle crash into a tree in the area of College Drive and Combs Canyon Road.

NHP: Fatal motorcycle crash on Eastlake Boulevard near I-580

UPDATE: A motorcycle rider died after her bike hit an RV and guardrail, throwing her into Washoe Lake just north of Carson City late Wednesday afternoon, the Washoe County Sheriff's Office tells KRNV News 4.

Muscle Powered Easy Hike to Carson River, Brunswick Canyon

Meet at the Brunswick Canyon Road parking lot on Deer Run Road, one mile south of Highway 50.Closed-toed shoes and water are required. Bring a friend and/or friendly dogs. Walking sticks recommended.

Muscle Powered Easy Hike program are hikes of between 2 to 4 miles in length, often with some elevation gain (no more than 500') and can be on a paved path, smooth wide trail, or single track. The hikes will usually be of approximately 1 1/2 duration.
