Muscle Powered Easy Hike to Sedge Road

Daylight Savings Time ends this week, so hikes start 1/2 hour earlier until Spring. Meet at the end of Sedge Road off South Deer Run Road. Bring a friend and/or friendly dogs. Walking sticks recommended.

Muscle Powered Easy Hike program are hikes of between 2 to 4 miles in length, often with some elevation gain (no more than 500') and can be on a paved path, smooth wide trail, or single track. The hikes will usually be of approximately 1 1/2 duration.

Muscle Powered Easy Hike to Deadman's Creek Trail (Washoe Lake State Park)

Meet at 3:15 pm to carpool from the north end of SaveMart on North Carson Street. Bring a friend and/or friendly dogs. Walking sticks recommended.

Carson City arrests: Woman jailed for two counts child neglect, battery on police officer

A 36-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday in the 1700 block of North Carson Street for two counts suspicion of child neglect, battery on a police officer and resisting arrest, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
