Ask the average person where to find the most elaborate Halloween decorations in the Nevada state capital, and you will undoubtedly be directed to 606 N. Mountain Street.

Horses gather at the refurbished watering fountain during Nevada Day Parade

It didn't take long after the recent refurbishing of the horse trough watering fountain before units from the Carson City, Washoe, Reno, and Sparks law enforcement units stopped by to water the horses during the Nevada Day Parade on Saturday. This was a wonderful flashback to the original purpose of the fountains and the rebuild this year.

Carson City arrests: Couple jailed on meth trafficking, possession charges

A Carson City couple was arrested Saturday for felony suspicion of drug trafficking and possession with intent to sell, among other charges after officers recovered 6.5 grams of methamphetamine following a traffic stop, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Join us for an Election Night watch and victory party at the Nevada Republican Trump Victory office located at: 3331 South Carson Street, Carson City, NV 89701. We will be having local candidates and officials giving their victory speeches as well as campaign officials thanking all volunteers and voters for hard work during campaign. Food and drinks will be provided and we will be watching all returns (local and national) on screens in the office. The event will begin at 6pm but due to the possibility of the election going very late, we do not have an official end time.

JoAnne Skelly: Avoid wormy apples or pears next year

The apple harvest is almost over. We have picked so many red delicious apples at our house, we don’t care there are still some on the tree. I had thought a freeze in late May had destroyed all the flowers. Surprise! The recent winds have blown down many of the apples remaining on the tree.
