Partitian not inevitable in Ukraine

Many believe that an east-west partition is inevitable in Ukraine, but it probably won't be that simple. 78% of the country's 44 million people are ethnic Ukrainians, including majorities in the city of Kiev and all 24 oblasts (provinces). Ethnic Russians make up only 18% of Ukraine's total population, though they are a majority in Crimea, an autonomous republic, and in Sevastopol, a city not officially part of Crimea where Russia's Black Sea Fleet is based.

Accidental shooting injures Dayton woman in the leg

A Dayton woman was transported to a hospital after her son's gun accidentally went off and shot her.
According to the Sergeant with the Lyon County Sheriff Dayton Substation, on Thursday, February 27, 2014, a young man was showing his new gun to his father.

I first saw a Smart Car in Paris. We were visiting my daughter who was studying abroad in the Fall of 2004. My wife took a photo of me standing behind the uber compact with my arms stretching from bumper to bumper. The design and size were like nothing I had seen in an automobile; it was very Euro.

WNC Softball: Wildcats Lose Tripleheader to North Idaho

North Idaho College cooled off the Western Nevada College Wildcats, sweeping three Scenic West Athletic Conference softball games on Friday in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Tori Almos blanked WNC on four hits while striking out 11 to earn the first-game victory, 6-0, snapping the Wildcats’ five-game winning streak. The Cardinals completed the sweep with 14-1 and 10-5 wins.

The teams elected to play three games on Friday with snow and extremely cold temperatures forecast for Coeur d’Alene on Saturday. A high temperature of 12 degrees is expected on Saturday.
