Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Monday afternoon to the parking lot of Buffalo Wild Wings in the 3800 block of South Carson Street for an RV on fire. It was extinguished by the time firefighters arrived.

The threat of thunderstorms expected to arrive in Carson City and Western Nevada Tuesday afternoon and last through Wednesday has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Fire Weather Watch for the region.

National Weather Service meteorologists are monitoring developing showers and thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon across western and northern Nevada, including Carson City and Douglas County.

The potential for heavy rain from developing thunderstorms in western Nevada including Carson City has prompted the National Weather Service in Reno to issue a flash flood watch through Sunday night.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno has issued a flash flood watch for portions of California and Nevada, including the Greater Lake Tahoe area, Eastern Sierra counties, Greater Reno-Carson City-Minden areas, Mineral and Southern Lyon counties.

With temperatures expected to soar past 100 Wednesday and Thursday, the National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for Carson City and much of western and northern Nevada.

The National Weather Service in Reno is predicting record high temperatures in Western Nevada over the next few days, resulting in increased risk for heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
